Today is an ODD Period Day – Periods

Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

Congratulations to your LHS "Lion Pride" Marching Band!!  The "Lion Pride" Band competed in Colorado State Fair Parade in Pueblo this past Saturday and finished 2nd in the 4A Division and placed 3rd in the Overall Sweepstakes among 16 competing Bands. The Band also achieved their highest score ever at this event.    Go Band!!!

Congratulations to Varsity Football for their win against Golden High School and to Varsity Volleyball for their win against South High.  GO LIONS!

Sports Announcements:

Wrestling - Fall open mat wrestling starts Tuesday and runs every Tuesday from 2:45-4:00 until the wrestling season starts in November.  See coach Burton in the Science department if you are interested in being on the team.

Girls' Soccer - Any girls wishing to play soccer for LHS should attend a short meeting on Wednesday at 2:20pm in room 133E. If you cannot attend please see coach Banfield to collect the paperwork.

Other Announcements:

Attention Seniors!  Senior Photos are being taken today!  Every senior needs to take a photo with the school photographer.  Go to the main entrance at your scheduled appointment time or during your off period.  And don't forget, if you want to also submit a photo on your own, those senior photos are due September 5th. See Ms. Fisher with questions.

Student's, please remember to be smart about leaving your backpacks unattended, especially if you have electronics and valuables in your backpack. It is always wise to lock important items in your locker when you are not using them.

Academic Announcements: 

Back to School Night is Wednesday at 6pm.  The purpose of this evening is to provide the opportunity for parents to meet teachers and become familiar with class expectations.  Additional information is on the website.

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will begin next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.

Club Announcements: 

Attention all grade levels!  Student Council is having its first General Council meeting of the year TODAY and EVERYONE is invited!!  If you have always wanted to join Student Council, now it your chance!  We will be meeting in the forum starting at 2:20 and we will have some treats for you too! See you there!

Yes, it is true. LHS has an awesome Ultimate Frisbee program. If you want to get involved by playing for the mixed team, come to the grass practice field on TODAY after school from 2:45-4:15. Come ready to run, meet new friends, and have the most fun ever!

Ping Pong club begins tomorrow, Tuesday, in the cafeteria after school. Everyone is welcome! We will set up some tables and play! Hope to see you there.

The first meeting for the World, Green, Model UN, and Colorado Clubs will be in Room 206 on Wednesday at 2:20pm.

FBLA will have our first meeting of the school year on Thursday in room 124 at 2:20 pm.  Come and see what we are all about!  Treats will be provided!

Ms. Kowal will hold an informational meeting on Thursday after school at 2:30p.m. in the Forum to determine the future direction of HIP HOP club.  Please plan to attend if you are interesting in HIP HOP style dancing and want to participate in this club.
