An admissions representative from Johnson & Wales University will be at our school TODAY at 1 p.m. to meet with students in the Post Grad Center.  Sign up on Naviance, or come to the Post Grad Center for more information.

All current 9-11 grade LHS students are invited to attend the ACTS/Concurrent Enrollment Information Meeting on Feb. 13 at 2:30 pm in the Forum.  Concurrent Enrollment is a program that allows dual enrollment between LHS with Arapahoe Community College and Metro State University of Denver.  Please Mr. Puchino in Counseling for more information.

Princeton Review is offering an opportunity for sophomores and juniors to take a FREE, full-length, proctored ACT test at Rock Canyon High School on Saturday February 22nd.  Students will receive a free report breaking down their scores. This is an ideal way to prepare for the statewide ACT test which all Juniors are required to take here at school in April.  Check the Princeton Review website for details about registering for the test.  There are a limited number of seats available.

Each week, the Writing Center will be featuring one of its peer tutors. The featured tutor will bring their favorite tea to share with those who stop in the Center. This week's featured tutor is Liz Patton. To find out more about Liz, go to the LHS Writing Center Facebook page, and to try one of her favorite teas, stop in the Writing Center today and Friday.

Today is ODD Period Day – Periods 1.3.5.7

Have you got a sweetheart?  Or someone who you wish was your sweetheart?  OR maybe just a good friend who you want to say thanks or hello!?  If so, find a Student Council member and buy a VAL-O-GRAM from them. VAL-O-GRAMS are on sale now through Feb. 13th!!  For $1 and you get to send a gram with a special message and a beautiful flower--delivered on Valentine's Day--to show you care!  All proceeds will benefit the LHS PROM this year!  So, buy lots and let all your friends and loved ones know you care!

The Counseling Department and the Peer Counselors would like to thank everyone who partook in the Penny War.  Between students and staff we collected nearly $200 for the Second Wind Fund.  Seniors were the winners of the Penny War and the Sophomores were the runner-ups.  One raffle ticket from each of these classes has been picked at random.   If your number is called please bring your raffle ticket to Mr. Hahn in the counseling office to redeem your prize.
The winning senior raffle ticket number is 839058.
The winning sophomore raffle ticket number is 839038.

Hip hop club has a meeting today in the forum at 2:20. We will be brainstorming for Prom, so bring song and dance ideas. New and old members are welcome!

If you applied for newspaper for next year, don't forget to come to the mandatory interview TODAY at 2:30 in room 140.

FCCLA will be meeting TODAY after school, in room 120.  Please remember to bring food, to prepare meals for the women's shelter.  If you are planning on going to Districts, your permission form and $20 are due TODAY.

FBLA members...there will be a short meeting TODAY in room 124.

There will be a Model UN meeting at 2:20 in room 206 TODAY.

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to our girls C and Varsity teams who each registered wins over Douglas County last night. Sarah Fee scored 13 points for our varsity squad and Laura Puchino added 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 steals in our 11th win of the season!  Be sure to come out and support our Lions on Saturday night vs. Arapahoe, here at LHS!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

The Unified Basketball team won a nail biter last night against Englewood HS. Thanks to the Band, Poms and Cheers for their support.  Next up is Heritage HS, Monday night in our gym at 7.

The LHS speech and debate team squared off against 28 schools last Saturday at the Blazing Sun Invitational.  Leading the way were:

Emily Cassio, 5th in Lincoln-Douglas Debate
Livvy Fore, 3rd in Lincoln-Douglas Debate
And Sara Leovic, Tournament Champion in Lincoln-Douglas Debate

The Continental League Championship Meet will be held this Friday and Saturday at Heritage.

Congratulations to the Littleton High School FBLA chapter for their fabulous showing at the district conference last Friday!  We had a total of 37 competitors and brought home a total of 39 awards; 29 state qualifiers and 10 alternates!  Nice job FBLA!
