Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to your LHS Symphony Orchestra for their Outstanding performance yesterday at the CHSAA Large Group Adjudicated Festival at the Denver School of the Arts.  The LHS Orchestra received the highest rating of Superior from every music judge.  Congratulations on an Exemplary Music performance.

Club Announcements: 

Attention all Senior Girls!  Your SWAG shirts are in and you can pick them up in the library TODAY!  Ms Prestel will be in the library periods 2, 4, and 6 and in the Social Studies office period 8. She will have the list of who has paid, plus some extra shirts if you need to buy one.  So come on by!  If you cannot pick yours up today, they will also be available on Monday 21st with Sara or Lauren.

Student Council officers, ambassadors and General Council members, there is a General Council meeting on Monday April 21st in the forum starting at 2:20.  We will be talking about officer elections next year, prom and forming our last set of committees--see you there!  Also, make sure you bring in any Quilt Raffle tickets that you have sold, the final due date for selling them is May 5th.

Special Events:

Come out on Monday April 21 to help clean our school and celebrate Earth Day. World Club will be hosting a school clean up. Meet us in room 206 to get your assignment. There will be CAS hours rewarded to any IB junior or senior. Let's have some fun!

On Tuesday April 22nd there will be a World Club tie dye fundraiser on the front lawn. World Club members will be set up in the cafeteria during both lunches on Thursday and Friday for registration. What better way to show your "green" off than to make a fun shirt and help World Club make a difference?

On Wednesday, Lip Dub 2014 filming will happen after school.  Route maps are posted throughout the school.  See Mr. Decker if you have any questions.

Next Friday is our spring sports pep assembly and we want YOU to wear your class t-shirts!! If you still need to pick yours up or buy one for $5, see Ms Prestel in the Social Studies office sometime next week (before Friday!) and she will get you a shirt! We want to see you all in school colors for our awesome assembly!

PROM tickets are on sale now.  Tickets will be sold out of the bookkeeper’s office during BOTH lunches. The price is $40 for all Juniors and non-LHS students.  All seniors are FREE!

After-Prom Party at Brunswick Zone!  Tickets will be on sale for $10.00 each on Thursday & Friday the 17th & 18th and 24th & 25th during lunches outside of the Cafeteria.  Remember - you don’t have to attend Prom to go the After-Prom Party!

Raffle to help Prom--check out the quilt hanging in the library; it is being raffled off to help with the cost of Prom this year!  Tickets are $2 for 1, or $5 for 3 for this gorgeous quilt--which was made out of our LHS class shirts--every year is displayed!  Find a Student Council member or Ms Prestel and buy your chance to win this amazing quilt today!!  The drawing is on May 16th.

Club Announcements: 

Attention all New and Returning Yearbook members, we have a meeting TODAY, after school in room 151.  This meeting will only last 10 minutes, so don't be late. It is mandatory for all new and returning staffers.  For questions see Ms. Fisher.

The Model UN club will meet in room 206 on TODAY at 2:20 pm.

FCCLA will be meeting TODAY in room 120, right after school.

Please congratulate Selena Ashbaugh and Bhewattie (Beauty) Nauth for receiving a bronze medal in Cake Design at the FCCLA State Culinary Competitive Events.

Congratulations to the varsity girls tennis team for their 4 - 3 victory against Chaparral yesterday. Despite a tough Continental League schedule, the team is now 4 - 4, heading into the last week of the regular season. Come support the girls play this Friday as we host the LHS Invitational.

Top Track performances of the weekend: Congrats to the Pomona Invitational Boys Mile Relay Champions: Colin Cannon, Barry Visser, Tre Blake and DeAngelo DeNiro. On the girls side Rosa Hardarson was fourth in the 800 and teamed up with Kaysha Kacanda, Elizabeth Rothrock, Astrida Knutson to run a season best time and a 4th place finish in the Girls Mile Relay.

Your LION ULTIMATE Ultimate teams continued their winning ways this weekend at the East Invitational! Both the girls' and guys' teams went undefeated and made it to the finals yesterday…only to be stopped mid-game due to deteriorating weather conditions. The guys will be at Heritage and the girls here at LHS on Saturday ready to show more big LION PRIDE.
