Today is an EIGHT Period Day – Periods 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8

Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

Good Job Boy's Golf Team!  Yesterday, golfers Jacob Fuchs, Zach Huffer, Anders Olsson, and Scott Robb defeated Arapahoe and Heritage and brought home the HAL Cup.  It's been 12 years since the Lions last won the Cup - congratulations golfers on a great ending to a successful season.

Congratulations to the JV and Varsity volleyball teams who defeated the visiting D'Evelyn Jaguars, last night at home. The JV team won in two sets in an exciting come from behind victory in the second set with a score of 25-22. The Varsity team won an exciting marathon match. The defensive player of the match was Kayla Spakaoff with 34 digs and was near perfect in serve receive. Top point scorers were seniors Kathryn Gerken and Haley Hannah, junior Maya Sojberg and sophomore Mallory Burbage. The four players combined for 44 kills in the match. Congratulations ladies!

Congratulations to your LHS "Lion Pride" Marching Band on their performance at yesterday's Regional Marching Band Competition, the Band and Colorguard successfully qualified for the State Marching Band Championships!  Go Band!
 
Special Events:

Please come out to cheer on our Ultimate Frisbee team competing against Arapahoe TODAY.  Game time is 3:30 on grass soccer field.

THE STRIDE is a community 5K and 10K running and walking event coming on Sunday, October 26. It is organized by the Littleton Foundation to raise money for our schools, and financial awards are given to the schools that have the most participants. Last year LHS beat out Heritage and Arapahoe and we received one thousand dollars for our school. We want to win again this year and we need your help. You can sign up for THE STRIDE online through our school webpage. You can also get a registration form from the counseling office, the main school office, or any of the PE teachers. Get your registrations in now and help LHS win again!

Sports Announcements:

All interested partners for unified basketball please come to a brief meeting October 22 at 2:30 in room 105.  We will be handing out important papers for partners to fill out in order to participate.

Attention all boys lacrosse players: if you are interested in playing lacrosse in the spring, you have a mandatory meeting for you and your parents on Wed. Oct. 29th in the Forum at 6 pm.  See you there!

Club Announcements:

There will be a brief meeting for the World, MUN, and Colorado Clubs TODAY in room 206 at 2:20pm.

ATTENTION all Student Council Officers, Ambassadors and General Council members, there is a General Council meeting on Monday Oct. 20th in the forum starting at 2:20--please be there; we will be handing out your Halloween O Grams and talking about Halloween week events.

TODAY - College Days at Littleton High School continues.  A list of visiting colleges is posted outside of the Counseling office.  This is a great opportunity to find out about different programs colleges around the country have to offer.

Juniors & Seniors:  Please return all Concurrent Enrollment paperwork to Mr. Puchino by the end of the school day on Wednesday, October 22nd.  If you still have any questions or need assistance, please see your counselor.

Today is an EVEN Period Day – Periods 2.4.6.8

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the JV soccer team on their 10 to 0 victory yesterday over Conifer. Kwaku Dubeng had a hat trick and Zach Maguire had two goals for the Lions.

The Littleton Men's C Team Soccer finished the season with a fantastic team effort and great win over Thunder Ridge by a score of 8-1.   The Lions were lead in scoring by Edgar Lopez and Ethan Schwarz each with two goals and goals were added by Nasr Ali Abid, Lex Graham, Jesus Acosta, with Alden Kramer and Duke Hindman spliting a double header off a corner by Alexis Valles Alvarado. Congratulations on a great season! Come support the Varsity team as playoffs start next week.

Academic Announcements: 

ATTENTION all freshmen, there will be NO Advisement TODAY.  Math Method classes will meet during their scheduled time.

Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences are TODAY and Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:30pm in the South gym and cafeteria.  Students do not have school on Thursday and Friday.

Today is an ODD Period Day – Periods 1.3.5.7

Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

Congratulations to our Varsity Football team for their win against Kennedy High School and to the Varsity Boys Soccer for their win against Wheat Ridge on Friday night!!  GO LIONS!

The LHS cross country team ran in its first Jefferson County League Championship meet on Friday, with the boys taking fifth-place, and the girls coming in eighth.  The boys were led by the three-way pack of Bruce Barnstable, Tommy Kail, and Colin Cannon, with Tyler Fuller and Ethan Ogden also figuring into the scoring.  The girls were paced by Addi Iken, followed by Magda Van Leeuwen, Claudia Kramer, Elizabeth Rothrock, and Clemence Auzias.  Good job, Lions, and on to Regionals!

Congrats to the Heritage/Littleton Varsity Softball Team on the great games played in Fort Collins over the weekend.  Jaiden Kleiner made several great plays at shortstop. Gabby Matl went 5 for 6 at the plate.  MaryAnn Quintana hit a double and threw a key strike out in the final game. Though they didn't make it to the next round, it has been a great season.

Two LHS Ultimate teams competed at the Monarch Invitational tournament this past weekend. Ice Cream Dream Team, in their first tournament appearance, came out second in their pool of four. After 3 wins on Saturday, your Littleton GOLD team suffered a couple of tough losses and tied for third. Come out and watch the action Wednesday here against Arapahoe.

The Model UN club had a strong showing at this last Saturday's Kent Denver/Littleton High School Model UN Conference. 17 Students participated in all. 12 students participated as delegates in Security and World Health Organization Councils, and 2 students - first time Model UN participants Alie Watson and Tatianah Summers won Honorable Mention Awards for their representation of France in their Security Council. 5 Students (Claire Martin, Alexandra Martin, Lili Froelich, Jae Banfield, and Lauren Cox) directed councils as Presiding Officers.  A special thanks goes out to Ms. Prestel for judging one of the Security Councils.

Special Events:

Students and staff, today is the marching band regional championship. Marching bands from all over the area will be arriving in large buses at 2:15. All cars parked in the front, west parking lot or the south, cafeteria/forum parking lot will need to be moved as soon as school gets out.  If you are not leaving right after school because you are in a club or a sport, please move your car to the north parking lot by the tennis courts.  Otherwise, you will be blocked in by buses and they will not be able to move to get your car out until late that night.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Model UN Club will meet this Wednesday at 2:20pm in Room 206 to prepare for the upcoming South High School conference. All students who are interested in learning about the UN and collaborating to solving global issues are welcome.

The Colorado Club will meet on Wednesday at 2:20pm in Room 206 to discuss ski trip planning. All interested students are welcome.
