STUDENT BULLETIN

Special Events:

Back to School night is Wednesday, August 26, 2015.  The evening will start at 6:00pm in the North Gym.  Parents will follow their student’s schedule to meet the teachers.  Parents will need to bring a copy of their student’s schedule or have access to it on a mobile device.  More details are available on the main page of the website.

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Tailgate happening Thursday, August 27th prior to our first football game of the season to celebrate the completion of the new fitness center.   The festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Stadium parking lot. The ribbon cutting will commence at 5:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy concessions, face painting, bean bag toss, music and other fun tailgate activities.  The ceremony will conclude with the football team “LION WALK” to the stadium.   Stay for the game to cheer on our team, kick-off is at 7:00 p.m.

Sports Announcements:

The Littleton Lionettes (Poms Dance Team) are having tryouts next Tuesday-Thursday from 2:30-4 PM in the South Gym. If you are interested in trying out you must have a physical turned into the athletic office. See Coach Montoya in the Math Office if you have questions.

Things you should know:

Monday – Will be an ODD period day, Tuesday will be an EVEN period day and Wednesday will be a LATE START EVEN period day.

Club Announcements:

Attention all freshmen!  Do you want to be part of the largest and most active club here at LHS?!  If so, we want you to run for a Student Council Office!  We are looking for kids who want to be super involved in LHS and have lots of energy and spirit!  You can pick up an election packet from one of our student council officers who will be speaking in your Advisement class today or you can get one from Ms. Prestel in the Social Studies office!    If being an officer is not for you, you can also be part of our club by becoming an Ambassador--or a General Council member!  See Ms. Prestel if you are interested.

Attention all students who want to be part of Student Council this year, we have our FIRST General Council meeting on Monday August 24th in the Forum from 2:20 to 3pm.  Come and see what Student Council is all about and have some fun!!

If you want your voice heard and have ideas on how to improve our school, community, state and/or even the country, then please join the Political Committee here at LHS.  We meet at 2:30 every Tues. in Mr. Klein's Room 204 (2607) and discuss issues that are important to you.  You can be part of the problem through silence, or you can be part of the solution through action. Hi Littleton Parents!  Please join us for this year's PTO Back-to-School Party for parents ... A super fun evening is planned at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Aspen Grove on Wednesday, September 2, from 6-9 p.m. It's a chance for LHS parents to re-connect after three months of summer break, and a time to catch up with Dr. Oaks and learn about all the new improvements to the school.   Tickets are $25/person, and include your movie ticket and appetizers. All proceeds will benefit 2016 After-Prom. Cocktails will be available at the cash bar, or you can order something during the movie.  Seating/tickets are limited. Picture Retakes will be on Tuesday, October 6th.

If you have not picked up your school supply pack yet from the DECA store, you will need to find a time to meet with Mr. Decker before or after school, or during most lunch periods to get your pack.  You can find Mr. Decker in the business office (room 1977) at the specified times.

Parking Permits – please have the completed form and proper documentation to pick up or purchase your parking permit from the bookkeeper.  You must have a parking permit to park at LHS and students can only park in designated student parking areas or you will be ticketed.

Students – do you have a computer? If you do not have a computer at home, we have free computers for you. These are refurbished desktop computers, not laptops. They use the XP operating system and are loaded with Open Office; please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office to receive a voucher for a free computer and/or more information.

Students – if you bike to school, please lock your bike up in the designated bike rack areas by the forum or the tennis courts.  Do not lock your bike to benches at the front entrance.  If your bike is not locked up in the proper area, Campus Security will break off your lock and move your bike to the designated bike rack space.
