Congratulations and GO LIONS!:

Congratulations to Boys Soccer - Last night both teams played against Dakota Ridge.  Varsity won with a 5-0 shutout; JV crushed Dakota Ridge 11-1.  Great job!

Academic Announcements:

Tomorrow – Class times will be adjusted for the Class Elections and Senior Meeting Assembly.  Math Methods and Advisement WILL MEET for 80 minutes of each block. Seniors will receive cap, gown and announcement order forms from Jostens at this assembly.

Attention Juniors and Seniors.  Tomorrow we will host our first college admissions representative in Post Grad.  All juniors and seniors who are interested in learning more about Northwestern University in Chicago, please sign up on your Naviance account to attend this meeting which will take place tomorrow at 8:00am in Post Grad. Also, a rep from Colorado Christian University will be here on Friday, September 4th at 9:00am.  If you need a pass from class, please stop by Post Grad before the meeting.

College Information Night" will take place on Wednesday, September 30th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm here at school.  Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors, and their parents, will not want to miss this terrific event.  We will have 7 informative breakout sessions including "Paying For College", "The NCAA Process", "The Parent's Role", "College Entrance Exams", "Building Your College List", and "Earning College Credit in High School". Don't miss the introductory session which begins right at 6:00pm...you'll find it helpful and college stress relieving.

Senior Announcements:

Attention Seniors!  If you are submitting a senior photo from an outside photographer, your photo is due by Friday, Sept. 11.  All senior photos should be emailed to Mrs. Fisher.  If you do not submit a photo by the 11th, you can have your picture taken for FREE here on campus by our own professional photographer during your off period on Thursday, Sept. 24 and Friday, Sept. 25.  We want every senior to have a picture in the yearbook so make sure you show up to get your picture taken.  It doesn't cost you anything and it will be a treasure forever.

Other Announcements:

Homecoming festivities are coming soon!!  Sign up starting this Friday Sept. 4th for Powder Puff football--girls only, and Guys Volleyball and Co-ed Dodgeball.  The sign up sheets will be on the student council bulletin boards in the Language Arts hallway!!  You can sign up individually or get a team together and sign up.  Don’t miss out on the fun!!

Homecoming guest forms are available in the main office and at student services on the purple table. They will be due on September 17, 2015.

Attention everyone...Class t-shirts will be available for pickup on Tuesday September 8th, so if you haven't bought a shirt yet, they are only $5!!  Check with your parents to see if they bought you one, and if not, bring your money to the bookkeeper and save waiting in a LONG line!

Club Announcements:

The Model UN Club will meet today at 2:20pm in Room 2609 in the Social Studies hallway. Additionally, anyone (staff or student) who is interested in planning this Fall's International Education Week should attend.

FBLA meets Thursday, September 3rd at 2:20 pm in room 1976.  Bring completed membership packets and dues.  Information about upcoming events will be shared!  See you then!

FCCLA will have our second meeting of the year Thursday (9/3), after school, in room 1972 (Culinary room). Be sure to get your officer team application in; we will be having elections that day.

Stressed about college?  Visit the Post Grad Center's webpage, located on the LHS website under the Counseling tab.  You'll find worlds of information and resources which will help take your blood pressure down!

Back by popular demand!  Mr. Stedron will once again offer his College Essay Workshops during both lunch periods on Tuesday, September 22nd in the Forum.  Seniors who need to write a personal statement or essay for at least one of your college applications will not want to miss this.  Mr. Stedron provides straightforward direction for attacking this often difficult, intimidating piece of writing.  See you there!

Students who ride the bus - the September RTD student bus passes are $39.50 for the month and available for purchase through the bookkeeper.

Volunteers Needed!!  The LHS Library will be conducting an Inventory beginning Thursday, September 10 at 9AM. Parent volunteers are needed to help with this activity over the course of the inventory. If you are interested in helping, please contact Lou Mednick or Marion Rubey at 347-7749 for more information.
