STUDENT BULLETIN

Congratulations and GO LIONS!:

The LHS Cross Country teams went down to Colorado Springs on Friday and tangled with the beasts from the southern part of the state and New Mexico.  The Lions boys were a respectable fifth out of 14 teams, and the girls were sixth.  Colin Cannon and Bruce Barnstable showed we can handle that jungle, coming in third and 10th respectively, followed by Christian Sapakoff, Tyler Fuller, and Ethan Ogden.  Addi Iken made it seven straight meets with a top-five finish.  After her, Magda van Leeuwen, Annika Cobb, Clemence Auzias, and Sarah Gray came roaring in.  Good job, Lions!

Your Ridisculous Ultimate team finished 8th of 13 teams at the Monarch Invite this weekend. In addition, they qualified to play Division I at state this fall. Nice work!

At this past Saturday's Model UN Conference at Boulder High School Abraham Stokes and Jaques Goffinet won Outstanding Delegation awards in their Security Council simulation, and Jae Banfield and Elisabeth Sanson won Honorable Mention awards in their Advanced Council simulation. The Model UN Club will meet this Wednesday at 2:20pm in room 2609. Planning for International Education Week and future Model UN Conferences including the January Vancouver, British Columbia Model UN Conference will be discussed. The Model UN Club would love to have any students who are interested in International Affairs; learning to solve world issues and develop solutions; and developing speaking, writing, research, and debate skills attend a meeting and try participating in Model UN.

Special Events:

Congratulations Littleton High School! We have a great opportunity this Friday to show our Spirit and Support. Together with the National Football League and the American Cancer Society, we can help save more lives from cancer. Come out to see our football team play and support this amazing cause!

What does this mean for us…

First, the Denver Broncos Alumni, Cheerleading Team and Miles the Mascot will be in attendance signing autographs and providing tailgate activities starting at 5:30 in the parking lot.

Second, this week during school we will be collecting donations for Cancer Research, buckets will be located in front of the attendance office. You can also purchase a white bag in honor of all who have been touched by cancer, they will be sold for $10.00 and you can decorate them with the name of your loved one.  At halftime your loved ones will be celebrated with a luminary ceremony.  These bags will also be on sale Tuesday, October 13th at the volleyball game and Thursday the 15th at the band competition.

Finally, you can help the fight against Cancer by signing up to be in the Relay For Life!  We are looking for teams of 6-8 students to run a 1 lap relay on the track before the football game as we pass around Buckets for donations in the stands.  You will represent the teamwork needed to beat Cancer!!  Sign up on the Student Council Class Bulletin Boards in the Language Arts hallway.

Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity!
