Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Freshman, Sophomore and Varsity teams who won their matches against D'Evelyn last night!  The varsity won in a five set exciting match with the 5th set 15-13!  Come support the girls volleyball teams and Breast Cancer Awareness Month at our home match Thursday! Show your spirit and wear pink!

Special Events:

The Stride is Sunday, October 25th! Register online at www.RunTheStride.com and please be sure to put LHS in the "I support" section!  This is a fantastic school community event!!

Academic Announcements:

Attention 11th & 12th graders who want to take classes at ACC next semester, you need to attend the Concurrent Enrollment meeting TODAY, after school in room 1610.

For students needing help in Math & Science, Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 1740.  Please use the forum entrance.

Students, do you need help with a particularly difficult class, subject or assignment?  If so, we have a great resource for you!  National Honor Society students are offering free one on one tutoring in the counseling office.  These students excel academically and are required to tutor.  They are available every day throughout the day and there is a list of tutors available on Mr. Hahn's office door.

Club Announcements:

Model United Nations Club members please meet with your club officers after school at 2:20pm in room 2609.

Key Club will meet this Thursday at 2.15 p.m. in room 2620.  If you would like to sign up to participate in Trick or Treat for Cans or Colorado Feeding Kids, please bring your paperwork.  If you do not have paperwork, there will be an opportunity to pick some up at the meeting.

FBLA will meet Thursday at 2:20 pm in room 1975.  We will be having a very important meeting to review events for the upcoming FBLA competition season.

Calling all writers, actors, directors, and camera people: Film Club is having its first meeting this Thursday, in room 1749. The meeting will begin after school at 2:20. If you enjoy collaborating with others and making short films, this is the club for you! Join your peers in writing scripts, acting, and working the camera, among other things! Come to the first meeting to learn more. See Sarah Urtz or Ms. Fritz with questions.

The STEM club will be meeting this Monday the 26th after school in room 1610! If you missed the informational meeting, that's fine. Come to this meeting and we will sign you up! Make sure you come to this meeting to prepare for our upcoming event!

Blog Announcements:

Halloween O Grams on sale all this week and next!  Do you like candy?  Do you have some friends you would like to send a FUN message to?  If so, you need to buy a Halloween O Gram from a Student Council member for only $1--such a deal!  They will be on sale until Oct. 29th, so pick yours up today!

LHS PTO will again be hosting a "Paint Drop Off" for water-based paints and stains on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10:00am to 2:00pm in the South parking lot. No charge for dropping off paint, but donations for LHS after-prom are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Nutrition Services is excited to announce they will be celebrating National School Lunch Week October 19 through 23, 2015.  To encourage students to participate in our meal program, we will be holding a week long raffle with prizes at each school.

How it works:  Each student that eats lunch with us on these dates will automatically be entered to win a prize from a drawing at the end of the week. Each school will receive one grand prize, as well as two runner-up prizes. (Grand Prize: Portable Bluetooth Speaker; Runner-Up Prizes: $15 iTunes Gift Card).

The drawing will take place either Friday afternoon or Monday morning. Winners will be notified by the kitchen manager. Eat lunch at school!

The Safe2Tell Colorado mobile app for reporting threatening behaviors and safety concerns in Colorado is now available for students, parents and community members on the Apple App Store for iphones/ipads and Google Play for Android devices.
