STUDENT BULLETIN

Leading the Pledge today – Veteran, Amber Barnello

Amber Barnello, a special education teacher, will lead us in the pledge today.  Amber served in the Air Force for 4 years and was stationed at Kadena Air Force Base for 4 years.  She also served at Nellis Air Force Base for 2 years as as well as being deployed to Diego Garcia, in the Indian Ocean, during Desert Storm inspecting, transporting and loading munitions, as well as a trainer for munition tractor-trailer drivers.  Her final 3 years of military service was in the Army National guard stationed in North Dakota and Las Vegas working in water purification. Amber, thank you for your service!

Academic Announcements:

Attention Seniors!  A representative from Fort Lewis College will be in the Post Grad Center from 12-2 on Monday, Nov. 16th, for Application Day!  She will meet with students to review application materials and, in many cases, provide you with an admission decision on the spot.  She will also waive the $40 application fee.  If Fort Lewis is on your list, do not miss this opportunity!  Come by Post Grad for more information and to sign up for a meeting time.

Special Events:

The International Week Soccer Tournament is on Wednesday, November 18 after school in the stadium. See coach Banfield for a registration form.Your teams must be registered by the end of school on Monday, November 16 to be able to play.

Sports Announcements:

Any student interested in Track and Field this spring please on plan on attending a short meeting on Tuesday, November 17 at 2:30 in the health room.

Attention Spring and Fall Athletes. Lion Elite Athletic Performance Camp (or LEAP Camp) is here at LHS and ready to help athletes Maximize their Athletic Potential with the latest techniques in training and conditioning. Come learn more about LEAP CAMP on Tuesday, November 17th at 2:45 in the health room.

Student, as you know last Friday was the end of the 12-week grading period.  These grades have been posted to Infinite Campus.  Along with posting these grades to IC, we sent an e-mail out to your parents notifying them if you are failing a class.  We will now send e-mails out every Thursday afternoon to notify your parents if you are failing a class.  We encourage you to log-in to Infinite Campus to monitor your own grades and progress.  Talk with teachers if you have concerns or questions.

Tryouts for Varsity and JV winter hockey season are Nov 13 at 3:00 and Nov 14 at 4:20.  Both tryouts are at the Ice Ranch located at 841 Southpark Dr.  Littleton, CO 80120.  Tryouts are open to kids from all 3 LPS schools.  For more information, go to the Athletic tab on your school’s website and click on ice hockey.

Coats for Veterans needs your help!  If you have some gently used coats at home, please bring them in and put them in the bins located in the library, front of the attendance office and the main office--these are for Veterans in need and for Families of Fallen Veterans! Let's show them our giving spirit here at LHS!
