Special Events:
Students- Tomorrow, November 11 we celebrate Veterans Day. Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans–living or dead–but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.
You will notice we have asked several veterans to be a part of our school days this week. In-house veterans will lead us in the pledge throughout the week. Yesterday we invited veterans from the George C. Evans Post 103 to have lunch with you in the cafeteria. We hope you had a chance to welcome them. We encourage you to think about the sacrifices veterans made and take a moment to thank them for their service!
Academic Announcements:
LHS SWIM TEST is TODAY at 2:30pm sharp (be dressed and ready to swim!)
There is a Colorado Math League competition TODAY after school in room 121 at 2:30. See you there!
Club Announcements:
Ping Pong club meets TODAY after school in the cafeteria at 2:30. Bring your forms if you are planning on going to the competition next week!
There will be a Key Club meeting in room 2620 on Thursday at 2.15 p.m. We will be making pinwheels for students rebuild. Please bring a few canned goods to donate to the LHS Thanksgiving food basket drive to the meeting if you are able.
Sports Announcements:
Wrestling starts on Thursday. Please get registered and be ready to practice this Thursday at 3pm in the new mat room (or the old weight room).
Attention Lady Lion Fish - there will be an optional swim practice offered TODAY from 3:00-4:00. Regular swim practice will begin on Thursday November 12th. Practice on Thursday the 12th and Friday the 13th will be from 3:00-5:00 for all swimmers. Please remember if you would like to participate in practice on Thursday you must have your blue card filled out and turned in. No card, no swim practice.
Preseason Camp for girls basketball kicked off yesterday and continues through Wednesday, 3:00-5:00 each day in the North gym. All girls interested in playing this season are encouraged to attend this week in preparation for Thursday and Friday's tryouts. We are Building Tradition and want you to join us!
Anyone interested in being a partner for unified basketball please see Ms. Encinias or Ms Stukey in room 1858...deadline for joining is Nov. 20.
Blog Announcements:
Winter athletes, if you have completed the online registration for your winter sport and turned in your current physical, you can pick up your clearance card in the athletic office.
Coats for Veterans needs your help! If you have some gently used coats at home, please bring them in and put them in the bins located in the library, front of the attendance office and the main office--these are for Veterans in need and for Families of Fallen Veterans! Let's show them our giving spirit here at LHS!
Tryouts for Varsity and JV winter hockey season are Nov 13 at 3:00 and Nov 14 at 4:20. Both tryouts are at the Ice Ranch located at 841 Southpark Dr. Littleton, CO 80120. Tryouts are open to kids from all 3 LPS schools. For more information, go to the Athletic tab on your school’s website and click on ice hockey. There will be an opportunity for open skates on Nov 10, 11, 12 at 2:50. This is a chance to come up and get warmed up before tryouts. These are open to any player.
