Today is an EVEN Period Day – 2.4.6.8

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to your LHS Symphony Orchestra for their outstanding performance at the CHSAA Large Group Festival yesterday.  The Orchestra received a top Superior Rating from all 4 judges in both the Performance and Sight-Reading sessions.

Congratulations to the LHS Vocal Jazz Ensemble for receiving the top rating of superior for their performance yesterday at the UNC Jazz Festival.

Special Events:

There is only one days left to pick a teacher for the Make A Wish pie throwing contest.  Get your change together and place it in the teacher’s bucket to choose which teacher will get a pie thrown at them!

Make A Wish Dress Up days start on Monday!!  Since Quinn wants to be an actress and loves purple, we have pattered the days after her!  Monday is Dress Like your Favorite Actor/Actress day, Tuesday is 80's or Dodgeball Movie Dress Up Day, Wednesday is Earth Elements Day (b/c it is Earth Day), Thursday is Dress in PURPLE, and Friday Wear your Make A Wish shirts OR your Class T-shirts.

Make A Wish Week is NEXT WEEK!  Monday come join us after school starting at 3:30pm to watch Quinn's favorite movie--Hunger Games: Mockingjay.  Cost is $3, which includes a soda and popcorn--we will be in the forum. Tuesday it's time to get rid of any school stress with DODGEBALL in the north gym from 2:30-3:30; $25 per team.  Wednesday is BINGO--you could win some fun prizes; only $2 per card.  Cafeteria at 2:30.  And Finally, thursday is BATTLE OF THE BAND from 5-7, $4 to get in-which includes a snack.  Make sure you bring your school ID (like at a dance).  WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT ALL THESE EVENTS TO HELP MAKE QUINN'S WISH COME TRUE!!!

Prom tickets on sale now and going all week during lunches. Please see the bookkeeper.
Tickets for this year’s After-Prom are now on sale for $15. Parents and students can purchase tickets online from the LHS home page or at school Thursday and Friday, April 23rd and 24th during lunch periods.

Club Announcements:

Attention all Student Council officers, ambassadors and general council members, we have a General Council meeting on Monday April 20th in the forum at 2:20.  We really need all of you there to finalize Make A Wish week and to talk about Officer elections for next year!

Attention Sophomore and Juniors.  The University of Colorado at Denver wants YOU!  They have invited any and all of you who may be interested in learning more about UCD to attend their "Preview Day" on Friday, April 24th at the Auraria Campus.  To find out more and to sign up to attend this free and exciting event, simply Google "Preview CU Denver".  This is a cool event that will give you terrific insight about the college experience at CU Denver.

Attention all students who may be interested in attending one of the military academies like the Air Force Academy, West Point, the Naval Academy or the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. A free information day will take place at South High School on Saturday, April 25th from 1:00-4:00pm. You'll learn about the process of getting nominated in order to apply to these very special academies. If you have questions about the military or the military academies, see Mr. Puchino in the Counseling Office.

Attention freshman and sophomores the Littleton Public Schools Educational Technology Advisory Committee is accepting applications from students. If you are interested in technology and would like to contribute ideas to technology initiatives in the schools, apply today! The committee meets at 6:30 pm on the last Wednesday of the month during the school year. Meetings rotate among the Littleton schools. Please come to the main office for information on filing out an application.

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Girls’ Varsity soccer team for their one nil win over Standley Lake last night. Sarah Gray scored from an assist by Taylor Hancock. Goalkeeper, Shayna Watkins, saved a penalty kick in preserving the shutout. The ladies are currently second in the Jeffco League.

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity lacrosse for the 12-4 win over Fountain Valley!

Your Lion Ultimate teams were both victorious over CA yesterday. The boys won 11-9 and the X Chomosomes girls' team beat CA 10-2.

Sports Announcements:

“Open gyms” for girls basketball are back!  Anyone interested in playing summer basketball and trying out next year is encouraged to attend.  We will see you on the court from 6:00-8:00 tonight.

Club Announcements:

FCCLA has a meeting TODAY after school in room 120.  We will be finalizing plans for the bake sale, so please do not miss this meeting.

Academic Announcements:

Attention all students taking AP exams:  Please come to the Forum to bubble for the AP exam, you will only need to come to one session: TODAY, A lunch, B lunch or after school 2:20-3:00 or Friday April 17 before or after school.  If you have an IB conflict you will need to see Mrs. Zerr.

An admissions representative from the University of Kansas in Lawrence will be in the Post Grad Center on TODAY, at 1:00 pm.

The Make A Wish Week "kick-off" event is TODAY when you can purchase a piece of duct tape to tape our Student Body President Seth Goldstein to a WALL in the cafeteria during both A and B lunches!  It will cost you $1.00 to get a piece of tape--and we will need A LOT of tape to get him to stay on the wall!!  So, bring your dollar bills this Thursday and help us Kick Off Make a Wish Week (April 20-24th)

Prom will be at the Highlands Ranch mansion.  There is very limited parking at the mansion, and you will only be allowed to park there if you have a parking pass.  There is plenty of parking at Mountain Vista High School, just about a quarter mile away, and we will have busses to take you to and from the dance.  There is more information to come.

After a tough loss in intense win against Fairview last weekend, your girls' Ultimate team came back with a decisive 13-2 win against the same team in Boulder yesterday. Come watch both the boys' and girls' teams take on CA on the grass today at 4.

Academic Announcements:

Attention all students taking AP exams:  Please come to the Forum to bubble for the AP exam, you will only need to come to one session: Thursday April 16 before school 6:45 to 7:15, A lunch, B lunch or after school 2:20-3:00or Friday April 17 before or after school.  If you are taking a make up because of an IB conflict you will not need to bubble at this time.   You will need to see me after the exams are over to bubble for the make up.

Attention freshman and sophomores the Littleton Public Schools Educational Technology Advisory Committee is accepting applications from students. If you are interested in technology and would like to contribute ideas to technology initiatives in the schools, apply today! The committee meets at 6:30 pm on the last Wednesday of the month during the school year. Meetings rotate among the Littleton schools. Please come to the main office for information on filing out an application.

An admissions representative from Arapahoe Community College in Littleton will be in the Post Grad Center TODAY at 9:30 am and an admissions representative from the University of Kansas in Lawrence will be in the Post Grad Center on Thursday, April 16, at 1:00 pm.  You can sign up to attend on the Home page of your Naviance account, or you can stop by Post Grad.

Prom tickets on sale now and going all week during lunches.  Prom tickets will be available in the cafeteria. They are $40 for all non-LHS students and non-seniors OR $45 if you would like to donate $5 to the Make a Wish campaign.  Seniors, your tickets are free, just bring your school ID to prom to show at the door!

Prom guest forms will be available in student services and the main office. They will be due on April 23, 2015.

Attention Juniors and Seniors.  As you may have learned, this year's prom will be at the Highlands Ranch mansion.  There will be more information to come, but you need to be aware of the parking situation. There is very limited parking at the mansion, and you will only be allowed to park there if you have a parking pass.  There will be staff and Douglas County police officers at the entrance, so if you don't have a pass, you may not park at the site.  However, there is plenty of parking at Mountain Vista High School, just about a quarter mile away, and we will have busses to take you to and from the dance.  If you do happen to get a parking pass, would you please organize a carpool.  Otherwise, make sure you plan to park at Mountain Vista High School.  There is more information to come.

Make a Wish t-shirts are still available.  If you did not get your order in on Wed, you can still order a t-shirt, just drop off your order form to Ms Prestel's desk in the Social Studies office or take it to the bookkeeper before or after school-only.  You can pay now, or when you pick up your shirt starting on April 21st.  Thanks for supporting Make a Wish!
