STUDENT BULLETIN

Congratulations and GO LIONS!

A HUGE congratulations to your "Lion Pride" Marching Band and Colorguard who earned a First Place finish in Division 4A at the Colorado State Fair Parade and were awarded the Sweepstakes Champion trophy, placing first among all 22 competing bands.  Way to go Band!

Congratulations to the Lions Soccer C Team in their 6-0 victory over Denver South.  Come support all of the teams this Saturday when they play at Cherokee Trail High School.

Special Events:

TODAY – Class times will be adjusted for the Class Elections and Senior Meeting Assembly.  Math Methods and Advisement WILL MEET for 80 minutes of each block. Seniors will receive cap, gown and graduation announcement order forms from Jostens at this assembly. See full assembly bell schedule on LHS website.

College Visits in Post Grad:
TODAY at 8:00am - Northwestern University in Chicago
Friday at 9:00am – Colorado Christian University
Juniors and Seniors, if you need a pass from class, please stop by Post Grad before the meeting.

Junior and seniors:  Are you interested in the realms of Scholarship, Leadership, Community Service and Character?  If so, then National Honor Society may be for you!  Eligibility letters are being mailed home to eligible juniors, as well as senior students who do not already belong to NHS.  Also, a list posted by student ID number is outside of the counseling office with all junior and senior students who are eligible to apply for NHS.  If you are already a member you do not need to re-apply. For those eligible and interested you may pick-up an application in the counseling office beginning the afternoon of September 4th.

Homecoming festivities are coming soon!!  Sign up starting Friday for Powder Puff football--girls only, and Guys Volleyball and Co-ed Dodgeball.  The sign up sheets will be on the student council bulletin boards in the Language Arts hallway!!

Blog Announcements:

Homecoming guest forms are available in the main office and at student services on the purple table. They will be due on September 17, 2015.

Attention everyone...Class t-shirts will be available for pickup on Tuesday September 8th, so if you haven't bought a shirt yet, they are only $5!!  Check with your parents to see if they bought you one, and if not, bring your money to the bookkeeper and save waiting in a LONG line!

Attention Seniors!  If you are submitting a senior photo from an outside photographer, your photo is due by Friday, Sept. 11.  All senior photos should be emailed to Mrs. Fisher.  If you do not submit a photo by the 11th, you can have your picture taken for FREE here on campus by our own professional photographer during your off period on Thursday, Sept. 24 and Friday, Sept. 25.  We want every senior to have a picture in the yearbook so make sure you show up to get your picture taken.  It doesn't cost you anything and it will be a treasure forever.

Students who ride the bus - the September RTD student bus passes are $39.50 for the month and available for purchase through the bookkeeper.

Volunteers Needed!!  The LHS Library will be conducting an Inventory beginning Thursday, September 10 at 9AM. Parent volunteers are needed to help with this activity over the course of the inventory. If you are interested in helping, please contact Lou Mednick or Marion Rubey at 347-7749 for more information.

Congratulations to Boys Soccer - Last night both teams played against Dakota Ridge.  Varsity won with a 5-0 shutout; JV crushed Dakota Ridge 11-1.  Great job!

Attention Juniors and Seniors.  Tomorrow we will host our first college admissions representative in Post Grad.  All juniors and seniors who are interested in learning more about Northwestern University in Chicago, please sign up on your Naviance account to attend this meeting which will take place tomorrow at 8:00am in Post Grad. Also, a rep from Colorado Christian University will be here on Friday, September 4th at 9:00am.  If you need a pass from class, please stop by Post Grad before the meeting.
