STUDENT BULLETIN

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Freshman, Sophomore, and Varsity Volleyball teams who defeated the visiting Standley Lake Gators at their final home match last night! The varsity team competes in their post season tournament at Golden High School on Saturday. Good luck ladies!

Special Announcement:

Students, on Monday morning, November 2, you will notice several parking spots that are blocked off in the west parking lot.  This is to allow for Bailey's moving trucks to maneuver as we begin to transition back into the theater.  We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.  Students are encouraged to use the tech ed parking lot along powers if the west lot is full.

Special Events:

Key Club - Trick or treat for cans is today!  Meet at the Community of Christ Church parking lot on Orchard at 2.45 p.m. if you have signed up to participate.

The LHS Choirs, Orchestra and Jazz Band will be presenting their Fall Concert this coming Tuesday, November 3rd, at 7 p.m.  The concert is free and will be held in the Arapahoe High School Theater.  All are invited!

Coats for Veterans needs your help!  If you have some gently used coats at home, please bring them in and put them in the bins located in the library, front of the attendance office and the main office--these are for Veterans in need and for Families of Fallen Veterans! Let's show them our giving spirit here at LHS!

Academic Announcements:

Concurrent Enrollment applications are due TODAY in the Counseling office.

Attention Seniors!  Are you planning to attend a four-year college?  Do you have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above?  Do you have financial need and a strong commitment to the community?  If yes, please come to Post Grad and pick up information about the Greenhouse Scholars scholarship program.  This scholarship provides comprehensive personal and financial support (up to $5,000 per year!).  Application deadline is January 4th.

Club Announcements:

Join the LHS Knitting Club which will start Monday after school by signing up with Ms. Quill or Ms. Ahmad! All skill levels are welcome, including beginners. Our first group project will be knitting together a blanket to donate to the Veteran's Hospital!  First meeting is on Monday, November 2 in Room 1602 at 2:30!

Attention all Student Council officers, ambassadors and general council members, we have a General Council meeting on Monday Nov. 2 in the forum, 2:20. We have Halloween evaluations and International Week committees to form-see you there!

Your R2D2  Ultimate team will be on the grass scrimmaging Heritage on Monday and Mountain Vista on Thursday.

Sports Announcements:

Basketball season is just 2 weeks away and this is a great year to become a part of our fantastic girls basketball program!  Preseason Camp begins on Monday, November 9th and tryouts begin on Thursday, November 12th.  Come check out open gym next Tuesday and Wednesday nights for more information.

Congratulations Varsity Boys Soccer for winning last night and advancing to the 2nd round of Playoffs! They will play against Air Academy on Tuesday, November 3 at 7PM in the Stadium. Please remember that this is a playoff game so your activity pass does not get you into the game. General admission price is $7, student and senior price is $5.  Again because this is a State Playoff game, LHS student activity passes will not let you into the game.

Congratulations to your Risdiculous mixed Ultimate team on their 11-6 win over Rock Canyon yesterday! Our regular season is over, but your R2D2 team will be on the grass scrimmaging Heritage on Monday and Mountain Vista on Thursday.

LIONS GAMES TONIGHT:

Come watch the Lady Lion Volleyball Players play their final home matches beginning at 4:30 in the North gym! It's Senior Night and the Varsity game begins at 6:30pm! Come support the team and bid farewell to our seniors!

Varsity Football will take on the Ponderosa Mustangs at 7pm in the stadium.  Special half time show of the Thriller performed by students and Marching Band,  Don’t miss out!!

Halloween Events:

Trick or Trunk is TODAY from 3:30-5:30pm in the main/west parking lot.  Please remember to move your car by 3pm.  Thank you!!

TODAY is your last chance to practice the Thriller Dance choreography after school at 3pm in the Band room.  Performance will happen at half time at the Varsity Football game TONIGHT.  Let’s get a huge crowd at the game to show our support and groovy moves.

Student Council is hosting the Costume Contest tomorrow, so we want to see the entire student body AND teachers decked out in Halloween Costumes!  Contest judging and picture taking will be during A & B lunches and prizes for 1st place in each category.  The categories are:  Scariest, Cutest, Best Group, Most Classic and Original.  Remember, you cannot have face masks or paint your face.  Costumes must be Code of Conduct appropriate. Thank you!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Girls Volleyball teams who beat the Wheat Ridge Farmers last night! The Freshman, Sophomore, and Varsity teams came home with victories last night!

Congratulations to the winners of the 5th Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest!  In the Creative category-winners Kathleen Lee and Rachel Rachel Tobler, as well as Willow Samu.  In the Lion Pride Category-Kathy Le and Alex Green, and in the Scary Category Miriam Tomlinson, Lydia Tomlinson and Ben Greenly.  Thanks for participating everyone!  You can see their pumpkins in the front of the Attendance office!

Halloween Special Events:

Learn the Thriller Dance choreography after school again today and tomorrow at 3pm in the Band room.  Performance will happen at half time at the Varsity Football game Thursday evening.

Trick or Trunk is on Thursday and it has a new location!  It will be now be in the West/Main entrance parking lot from 3:30-5:30pm.  Students we need your help! Please move your cars by 3:00pm so we can set-up the area.  StuCo thanks you in advance as we welcome younger kids from the entire LHS community to come have a safe and fun Halloween environment at LHS.

STUDENT BULLETIN

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to all the students, families and faculty who participated in the Littleton Stride on Sunday.  Through your efforts we had the greatest high school participation increase over last year and we received $1,000 for our school from the Littleton Foundation. This is the fifth straight year that LHS has won this award.  Great job everyone!! GO LIONS!!

Congratulations on an exceptional season for your LHS "Lion Pride" Marching Band.  The Band competed at the State Championships on Friday and Saturday and qualifying from Quarterfinals into the Semi-Finals round of competition with their highest score and placement of the season.  The Band finished 12th overall in the State!

Congratulations Varsity Football for their win over Lincoln on Saturday.  Come out on Thursday to watch them take on the Ponderosa Mustangs at 7pm in the stadium.

Club Announcements:

All FCCLA members need to bring their ingredients and be prepared to cook on TODAY from 2:30-4:30.

The STEM club will be meeting TODAY after school in room 1610! If you missed the informational meeting, that's fine. Come to this meeting and we will sign you up! Make sure you come to this meeting to prepare for our upcoming event!

Sports Announcements:

Lady Lion Fish please plan to stop by the pool at 3:00 TODAY for our team suit sizing, and then stay for an optional workout if you would like until 4:00. Thursday October 29, another optional swim practice will be offered from 3:00-4:00.

Special Events:

Do you remember carving pumpkins with your family when you were little-or maybe you still do it now with your family, well Student Council here at LHS can give you a chance to show off your carving skills with our 5th Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest in the cafeteria on Tuesday Oct. 27th. We will have prizes for the most creative/scary and most Lion Pride.  Come on out and join in the fun!

Have you ever wanted to perform Michael Jackson's Thriller Dance with 100 people?  Come join the Marching Band as they perform and music and the dance to Thriller at our Thursday night Football game.  Learn the Thriller Dance choreography each day after school this week at 3pm in the Band room.

Halloween O Grams on sale!  Do you like candy?  Do you have some friends you would like to send a FUN message to?  If so, you need to buy a Halloween O Gram from a Student Council member for only $1--such a deal!  They will be on sale until Oct. 29th, so pick yours up today!

Students, do you need help with a particularly difficult class, subject or assignment?  If so, we have a great resource for you!  National Honor Society students are offering free one on one tutoring in the counseling office.  These students excel academically and are required to tutor.  They are available every day throughout the day and there is a list of tutors available on Mr. Hahn's office door.
