Special Events:

Lion Pride Preview is TONIGHT!  This is our showcase evening for incoming 8th graders and their families.  Thank you in advance to all our athletes and club members who will be here to promote and show off our terrific school!

Club Announcements:

FCCLA will be meeting TODAY, after school, in room 1972. Guest speaker, JoAnne Peck, will be doing a "Living On Your Own" presentation.  Everyone is welcome to join.

Sports Announcements:

The LHS Volleyball team plays at Lewis Palmer High School Saturday at 9:30 and 11:00 am. Good luck ladies!

Tryouts for Varsity and JV winter hockey season are Nov 13 at 3:00 and Nov 14 at 4:20.  Both tryouts are at the Ice Ranch located at 841 Southpark Dr.  Littleton, CO 80120.  Tryouts are open to kids from all 3 LPS schools.  For more information, go to the Athletic tab on your school’s website and click on ice hockey. There will be an opportunity for open skates on Nov 10, 11, 12 at 2:50.  This is a chance to come up and get warmed up before tryouts.  These are open to any player.

Winter athletes, if you have completed the online registration for your winter sport and turned in your current physical, you can pick up your clearance card in the athletic office.

Academic Announcements:

For students needing help in Math & Science, Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here TONIGHT from 6:00-7:30pm in room 1740.  Please use the forum entrance.

Other Announcements:

Library closure - Students, the library will close at 2:30 pm TODAY to allow us to set up for our Lion Pride Preview night. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation.

Seniors & Juniors, have your parents paid online for your parking permit and you have not picked it up?  Do not wait any longer, the spaces are running out for the purple parking lot.  Sophomores you may now purchase parking permits.

Coats for Veterans needs your help!  If you have some gently used coats at home, please bring them in and put them in the bins located in the library, front of the attendance office and the main office--these are for Veterans in need and for Families of Fallen Veterans! Let's show them our giving spirit here at LHS!

Attention Seniors!  Are you planning to attend a four-year college?  Do you have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above?  Do you have financial need and a strong commitment to the community?  If yes, please come to Post Grad and pick up information about the Greenhouse Scholars scholarship program.  This scholarship provides comprehensive personal and financial support (up to $5,000 per year!).  Application deadline is January 4th.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Costume Contest Winners!  Scariest is Samantha Burke, Cutest is Morgan Mulholland, Classic is Ruben Valdivia, Original is Harmony Slankard and Group was the group of Painters--Marylou Barrios, Anna Maestas, Andy Bredar and Madi Deter.  Stop by Ms. Prestel's desk in the social studies office after school to pick up your prize!

Sports Announcements:

There will be a Boys Basketball Pre-season meeting TODAY from 2:30 to 3:00 pm in Room 1329. This is for all boys interested in playing basketball this year and for anybody who is interested in being a team manager.

Varsity Boys Soccer has advanced to the 2nd round of Playoffs! They will play against Air Academy TONIGHT at 7PM in the Stadium.  Please remember that this is a playoff game so your activity pass does not get you into the game.  General admission price is $7, student and senior price is $5.  Again because this is a State Playoff game, LHS student activity passes will not let you into the game.

Attention all Student Council officers, ambassadors and general council members, we have a General Council meeting TODAY in the forum, 2:20. We have Halloween evaluations and International Week committees to form-see you there!

Join the LHS Knitting Club which will start TODAY at 2:30 in room 1602 with Ms. Quill & Ms. Ahmad! All skill levels are welcome, including beginners. Our first group project will be knitting together a blanket to donate to the Veteran's Hospital!

Your R2D2 Ultimate team will be on the grass scrimmaging Heritage TODAY at 4pm.
