STUDENT BULLETIN

Student Recognition and Congratulations:

Congratulations to your mixed ultimate team on their second league win of the season! Lion Ultimate was victorious over CA yesterday 10-5, after beating Arapahoe last week 9-7. We have many new players who contributed to these wins, as well as to our 8-3 non-league victory over Mountain Vista.

Club & Activity Announcements:

Future Business Leaders of America, also known as FBLA, will be having a meeting TODAY at 2:20 in room 1976. If you are interested in joining FBLA or are a returning member, come to the meeting to get information and have a good time.

The Gay Straight Alliance, also known as GSA, has their first meeting TODAY in Ms. Quill’s room 1602 from 2:30-3:30.  Come for some snacks and a chance to meet everybody. All are welcome!

If you love science or just want to learn more about it, go to Room 1317 in the Science Hall after school on Monday, September 19th at 2:20 for the first meeting of Science Bowl club! Snacks are provided for this informational meeting.

The next meeting of the PEAS club will be on Tuesday, September 20th at 2:20 afterschool in room 1324. We will be having food at this meeting."

Special Events:

Bettingers Photography is here TODAY and tomorrow to take Senior Pictures if needed.  If you want to verify if Yearbook has a submitted photo, please see the list in the Senior hallway by the cafeteria.  If your name is highlighted, Yearbook has a Senior picture of you!  If your name is NOT highlight, please see Bettinger in the main lobby.

IT’S TIME TO GET SOME LION SPIRIT!!  StuCo's Hype Club is sponsoring a USA Themed Boys Soccer Game on Friday the 16th!! Come dressed in your RED, WHITE AND BLUE and you could get a prize!! We will also have beads and face paint for you to get in the spirit!!  The game is at 7pm, we'll see you there!!

Come cheer on your Lions Football teams this week as they take on the Kennedy Commanders:  GO LIONS!!!

Homecoming Announcements:

HOMECOMING IS ALMOST HERE--HAVE YOU GOT YOUR DATE!!??  Even if you don't have a date yet, you can buy your Homecoming Dance Tickets starting on Monday Sept. 19th in the cafe during lunches.  The price is $15-which includes a soda and cookies at the dance.  Come dressed semi-formally; no denim or baseball caps please.  Doors open at 8pm and it ends at 11pm.  PLUS don’t forget to get your guest form signed!  Guest form are due Thursday, September 22.

HOMECOMING MEANS DODGEBALL, BOYS VOLLEYBALL AND GIRLS POWDERPUFF FOOTBALL!!  Check the signs around the school to see where to sign up for these amazing games! Dodgeball is Coed and they are all CLASS COMPETITIONS--let's see who has the power class in the school!!

Remember last year when we did Lip Sync Challenge for Make A Wish, well, it is back by popular demand for Homecoming!!  IF you want to Lip Sync to your favorite song...bring 2 bucks to both lunches on Monday and Thursday next week and SHOW OFF YOUR LIB SYNC TALENTS!  The money goes to Urban Peak, an organization that helps homeless teenagers!  Come on out and have fun for a good cause!

FINALLY, don’t forget to wear your Pajamas--code of conduct friendly--on MONDAY 19th.

Class t-shirts are on sale down in the concession stand the rest of this week during lunches and after school. Get yours early, so you do not have to wait in line next week!

Parent Blog Announcements:

Come kick off homecoming week this Sunday, September 18 at the Inaugural Lion’s Pride Car show. This will be a FREE event for all, so bring your friends, family, and neighbors.  We will have over 50 different cars on display, a dragster from Bandimere Speedway, emergency vehicles from Littleton Fire and Police, a pedal go-cart course, raffle prizes, and concessions.   The fun starts at 9am in the parking lot outside of the LPS stadium.  Check out our website for more information including how to register a car if you want to be part of the show.  http://www.littletonlions.net/page/show/2526962-booster-club

Hi Lions Parents! The LHS Homecoming Parade is Friday, September 23 at 3:00….. come cheer our LHS students on as they march down Littleton Boulevard, and join the PTO as it hosts the 5th annual Homecoming Viewing event at Merle’s Restaurant. Merle’s offers a great spectating deck, and will also donate 20% of all proceeds during the event to LHS PTO After-Prom. Support two good causes! Homecoming AND After-prom, and get to know some of your fellow Littleton parents. See you at Merles- arrive at 2:30 to get your seats! GO LIONS!

Lockheed Martin Tutors will be here every Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30pm in room 1740 for students who need help in Math and Science.  Please use the Forum entrance.

Students: Do you need help with your homework or help understanding a difficult subject?  If so, National Honor Society members are available in the counseling office to help provide extra support and tutoring during off periods, as well as both lunches almost every day.  For more information please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office.

"Life After Littleton Night" will take place on Wednesday, September 28th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm here at school.  Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors, and their parents or guardians, will not want to miss this terrific event.  We will have many informative breakout sessions including "Financial Aid 101," "Trade and Tech Careers and Education," "The Parent's Role," "College Entrance Exams," "Building Your College List," "Earning College Credit in High School," and "Community College Certificate Programs.". Don't miss the introductory session which begins right at 6:00 pm...you'll find it helpful and stress relieving!

Stressed about life after high school?  Visit the Post Grad Center's webpage, located on the LHS website under Counseling.  You'll find worlds of information and resources which will help take your blood pressure down!

Back by popular demand!  Mr. Stedron will once again offer his College Essay Workshops during both lunch periods on Tuesday,. Oct. 4th in The Forum.  Seniors who need to write a personal statement or essay for at least one of your college applications will not want to miss this.  Mr. Stedron provides straightforward direction for attacking this often difficult, intimidating piece of writing.  See you there!
