Student Recognition and Congratulations:

 To the Girls  Varsity Basketball team who defeated Pinnacle  on Saturday.

Congratulations to all Lady Lionfish - you swam a great meet against Chatfield last night.   JV lost a close one by 8 points.   Varisty was victorious by 18 points. A special congratulations goes out to Varsity swimmers - Emily Sanders, Lydia VanKooten, Reganne Fornstrom and Sarah Fantle for their State Qualifying swim in the 200 Medley Relay.  Also congratulations to Lydia VanKooten for qualifying for State in the 200 and 500 Free.  Come watch the Lady Lionfish take on Lakewood High School next Thursday 4:00 at LHS.

A huge congratulations to our speech and debate team.  The team took 3rd place overall at the Chatfield Chill this past Saturday.  Kelly Steinberg led the way by taking 3rd place in Drama, first place in Humor, and 1st place in Program Oral Interp.  Kelly also won the speech pentathlon, competing in five events.  We also had great performances by Natalie Parkhurst, who placed 6th in Humor and Julia Valdez, who placed 2nd in poetry.  In Lincoln Douglas debate, Hannah Pedersen placed 4th place, and Will Dinneen placed 2nd.  Great job!

Congratulations to Dianna Link, Jazzy Miller, Emma Nelson and Logan Nelson who successfully auditioned into the 2017 Colorado All-State Orchestra!!  These students are among the best in the State of Colorado on their Instruments and will be performing in Fort Collins at CSU in February.

Thespians! Four of our thespians who attended the Colorado Thespian convention auditioned for scholarships from attending colleges (Grant Bowman, Bradley Iroine, Willow Samu, Lauren Nickell) and were all called back by multiple colleges and one of our students (Willow Samu) qualified to participate in the National conference this upcoming summer.


Special Events:

Audition for the musical "The Drowsy Chaperone"!
Auditions for the musical will take place on Wednesday, December 7th, from 3:10-5:30 p.m.  Information and the audition sign-up is on the Theatre bulletin board.  See Mr. Farrell if you have any questions.

It’s the season of giving and what better way to give than to support an orphan at the Musana school in Uganda! The Giving Snowman will be up in the Business hall starting Tuesday Dec. 6th.  Stop by and take a Snowflake off of the Snowman, buy the gift suggested on the back and then bring it up to Ms. Prestel's desk in the Social Studies office by Dec. 22 and you will have made a young kid at Musana very happy!

Another way to give this season is to bring in slightly worn coats for Student Council's Coats for Veterans drive.  There will be a large bin in the front lobby and one in the library starting on Monday Dec. 5th.  So, dig through your closets and bring in coats for any ages--these coats go to Veterans AND their families. Thanks

Staff Sergeant Rosenbach, the Marine recruiter for our school will have a promotional truck here on Wednesday the 7th. The truck will be out by the tennis courts from 10:30 till about 2:30 for any students that would like to check it out on there off block or during lunch. They will Have their simulator game in the truck and the Pull up bars out with plenty of prizes to win. If someone just has some questions they can stop by as well.

Academic Announcements:

Attention Juniors and Seniors!  An admissions representative from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, will be visiting the Post Grad Center on
Tuesday, Dec. 6th, at  10:00 am.

Clubs and Activities:

Key Club will meet in room 2620 at 2:15 on Thursday December 8th to make holidaycards for the elderly.  All welcome!If you ordered a Key Club T shirt, please bring $15 cash or check to the meeting on the 8th or bring it to Ms. Anthamatten or Mr. Hahn sometime this week.

Calling all artists and writers! The theme for the LHS Art & Literary Club, Inspirlions, is holiday! Submit any holiday themed drawings, poems, short stories, and more, as well as any other works of art! Submit at inspirlions.magazine@gmail.com and you could be published on our website, located under Student Publications on the LHS website.

Attention all Student Council officers, ambassadors and general council members, there is a General Council meeting on Monday Dec. 5th at 2:20 in the forum. This is our last meeting of the semester--we will fill some committees AND you can pick up your StuCo t-shirts--PLEASE bring $5 to help offset the cost.  See you there!

Trancripts!  Attention Seniors applying to college!  Remember that your transcript needs to be ordered 10 school days before your college deadline!  This means that if your college application deadline is January 1st or 15th, you need to have requested and paid for your transcript before the break!  We want all of your materials to arrive at your colleges on time, so take note of these popular application deadlines and your LHS deadlines:
