STUDENT BULLETIN

Special Events:

Take the challenge!  The Marines will be here Tuesday, January 19th in the cafeteria during lunches with their pull up bar.  Stop by and take the challenge!

Seniors, we are looking for a few good Lions!  We need a positive, hard-working group of seniors who are ready to plan an outstanding senior year-end event, otherwise known as SWAG.  This committee will work with faculty and administration to plan and host an event that will be safe, inclusive, and FUN!  All interested seniors should attend the committee's first meeting next Thursday, January 21 at 2:25 pm in the Forum.

The Winter Dance is January 30th. The guest forms are available at student services and the main office. They will be due Thursday January 28th.

Academic Announcements:

Poetry Scholars - please go to Mr. Uhl’s room and to pick up your poetry portfolios.

For students needing help in any subject or with organization, National Honor Society students are in the counseling office every period through the end of the semester.

All Pre-IB sophomores: You have a mandatory meeting during A and B lunches on Thursday, January 21 in the Forum. Ms. Anderson and Mrs. Stulock will talk about courses for next year and the commitment to IB. Bring your lunch and plan to be there.

Hey everyone (including teachers), let's get into the spirit and dress up tomorrow for BRONCO’S ORANGE DAY!  Mayor Hancock of Denver has declared Friday to be Bronco Orange Day and our LHS Student Council is backing him up!!  If you are wearing Orange tomorrow and we draw your name, you could win some Bronco "swag!" The drawing will take place 8th period.  So, support our Broncos and wear your Orange!!

There will be an informational meeting for all girls interested in going out for Girls tennis on Thursday at 2:25 in room 1215. If you are interested in becoming a manager, please speak with Mrs. Hughes.

Since starting this program at Littleton High School we have helped over two hundred students receive a free home computer.  If you are in need of a computer please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office to receive a voucher for a free computer and/or for more information.

STUDENT BULLETIN

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

The wrestling team traveled to Bennett Colorado on Saturday.   Aron Pino Valenzuela continued his undefeated season with a 1st place finish.   Poe Di won his first tournament of the year after 3 consecutive 2nd place finishes, and Matt Richie continued his strong season with a 2nd place medal.   On Thursday, the team takes on Golden and Evergreen.   Be sure to wish them luck.

The Unified team represented with a home win over Arapahoe.  A shout out to everyone who dressed up and made the night so much fun, including Poms and Cheers!  Next game is away at Heritage, Wed. Jan 20th at 6pm.

Club & Activity Announcements:

The STEM club will be meeting TODAY after school in room 1610! If you missed some meetings last semester, come anyways! We are always looking for new members.

The Model UN Club will meet in Room 2609 on Wednesday at 2:20pm. Any students who are planning on participating in the Colorado Springs School Model UN Conference on Saturday, January 23rd, and who are interested in learning about the New York Model UN Conference opportunity in March should attend.

You must submit payment to place an order for your yearbook.  Bring cash or check payments to the Bookkeeper or pay with a credit card online.  If you place an order online, only enter quantity, dollar amount will be automatically calculated.   Don't miss out on all the memories from the school year.  The yearbook deadline is January 15th.

This season we are introducing theme nights for our home UNIFIED basketball games.  Our first theme for TONIGHT’S game against Arapahoe is Beach night.  Dress up, and get your flip flops and snorkel gear ready, surf's up TONIGHT at 7pm.

Attention all National Honor Society students - You have a meeting TODAY after school at 2:20 in the Forum.  We look forward to seeing you!

Knitting Club's first meeting after Winter Break - Welcome back knitters!!!  Let’s finish our veterans blanket project.  Bring your knitting TODAY to Ms. Quill's room at 2:30.  Please, please do bring in the $12.00 that was previously asked to cover expenses for buying the yarn for this project.  We look forward to seeing you all.

Since starting this program at Littleton High School we have helped over two hundred students receive a free home computer.  If you are in need of a computer please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office to receive a voucher for a free computer and/or for more information.

Save the Date - Littleton High School's STEM Certificate Program will host their second annual "Hour of Code" event Wednesday, January 27th right after school in the LHS cafeteria any time between 2:30-4:30pm.  All LPS students and prospective LPS students, staff and family members are welcome to join us for a chance to prove to yourself that YOU, yes YOU can write a genuine piece of computer code in about an hour. We'll have food, music, laptops and everything you'll need to give this a try. An online registration will open on January 11, or you can find it on the LHS homepage. Sign up to attend, give coding a try!  If you have questions, please email Ms. Reimers, STEM Program Coordinator at rreimers@lps.k12.co.us.
