STUDENT BULLETIN

Special Events:

The Yearbooks are HERE!  If you did not pick up your yearbook after school yesterday, you can get your book from the main office.  If you did not purchase a book yet, we will have a limited number for sale at the bookkeeper's window.  Books are $75.00 and they are first-come-first-serve.  We always sell out and when they are gone, they are gone so don't wait!  Please see Mrs. Fisher with any questions.

Academic Announcements:

Attention Seniors!  Next week, May 9 - 13, the Post Grad Center will be conducting Senior Exit Interviews between 8:30 and 2:30 every day!  You MUST stop by the Post Grad and complete a few activities before you can pick up your cap and gown for graduation.  Also, please pay all outstanding fees/fines before you come see us.  Almost there!

All scholars planning on taking AP Literature and Composition with Mr. Thom next year need to drop by room 1472 before the end of the school year in order to pick up your summer work.  Mr. Thom looks forward to meeting with you!

Club & Activity Announcements:

All students who are interested in running for a Student Council office, please make sure you paperwork is in to Ms. Prestel end of TODAY.

Attention all students, there are mandatory class meetings on Monday May 9th starting at 8:45. Please meet in the following locations:  Seniors-back of the library, Juniors--North Gym, Sophomores--Forum, and Freshmen--Theater.  We will see you there!

Sports Announcements:

What if there was a sport where you weren't restricted by the size of the playing field? How about a fun, healthy sport requiring very little special equipment? What about one that encourages you to run across grassy fields, along trail and at times, through water? Come see how cool Cross Country can be during our informational pre-season meeting on Wed., May 11 at 6 p.m. in Room 1329. Students and their parents are invited to meet the coaches, learn about summer running and hear about the season. Athletes of all abilities are welcome and little or no running experience is required for this no-cut sport. Hope to see you there!

Please bring your own bag to Whole Foods.  For every bag you reuse, including produce bags, the LHS greenhouse gets 10 cents. Please, don't forget to take your reusable bags to Whole Foods Southglenn for their Bag Donation Credit Program (specify money to go to LHS).  We are the recipients through June - the change adds up.  Less waste, fewer natural resources squandered more money for us!

STUDENT BULLETIN

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

The varsity girls soccer team defeated Conifer yesterday 5-nil. Goal scorers were Sarah Payson with two, Sarah Gray, Emma Slenkovich and Zoe Girkin. Assists were from Katie Puchino, Nicolina Senkovich, Payson and Gray and goalkeeper Lily Jensen had the shutout.

Nice job Lion Ultimate guys' team on making the most of your game versus DSST College View and winning 15-4. 6 and 2 on the season and seeded 6th for state…looking good!! Girls look amazing and have a strong roster for state, as well. Come check out the state tournament at Dick's this weekend!

Our Gay-Straight Alliance will hold it's final meeting of the year on Thursday in the art hallway, room #1218.  Come celebrate the ending of a great year and maybe help plan for next year.  Everyone is welcome.

Wow! What a fun night! Despite the chilly weather, after-prom was a super fun event!!! Thanks to all of our volunteers for helping make after-prom at Brunswick Zone such a success! And a BIG shout-out to 20 Taras for their amazing performance! Thanks to the band for playing for the students AND the parent volunteers! We appreciate everyone for their work in helping make after-prom so special!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support LHS Performing Arts by donating items at the Savers Donation Drive on Sunday!  Despite the chilly weather, LHS families and community members came through big-time by donating 6400 pounds of items!  This translates into $650 in funds raised for our Performing Arts Department! Thank you!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congrats to our LHS Lacrosse team.  They defeated Pueblo West on Wednesday evening 15-4 and are now state eligible!  Great job, keep up the great work.  Also congrats to the JV Team defeating Pueblo West 9-4.  Great job!

Attention all Student Council Officers, Ambassadors and General Council members: we have our LAST General Council meeting of the year today in the forum starting at 2:20.  PLEASE be there--we will have treats; and we have lots to talk about--elections, Prom and Make A Wish evaluation and much, much more! 

Student Council wants YOU! If you have lots of school spirit, want to make a difference at LHS and would love to help LHS be the best school it can be.....then become a Student Council Officer!  Packets are available in the main office or in the Social Studies office at Ms. Prestel's desk. 

Make a Wish shirts will be available Tuesday during lunches and after school, as well as Wednesday after school.  If you did not get your shirt last week, you will be able to get it tomorrow.  Thanks a ton to everyone who bought one to help out Dominic!
