STUDENT BULLETIN

Student Recognition and Congratulations:

Good luck Girls Tennis team doubles, Ashby Bell & Abbey Moses!  They are competing TODAY at State Tennis in Pueblo.

Tomorrow at 1pm our Girls Soccer will compete in the 2nd round of playoffs against Air Academy in Colorado Springs.  Good luck and GO LIONS!!  See the Blog section for article link highlighting the girls soccer team defeating Durango in the 1st round.

Congratulations to the following Baseball players for making it to the 4A Jeffco Baseball All-Conference League. First Team is Jarod Dreiling; Second Team is Nick Caswell and Ivan Buss; and Honorable Mention is Dylan Nickless and Enrique Duran.

TODAY is our Seniors last day.  Senior walk and assembly begin at 1:35pm.  Spring Fling for all LHS students will follow the Senior Assembly.

Graduation Parking Information:  Students should plan to park in the cafeteria/forum lot and west lot on Wednesday, May 18 and Thursday, May 19.  Staff will be utilizing these lots as well.  The stadium lot and north lot will be off limits as it will be utilized for graduation ceremonies.  Please allow extra time as students may need to park off school grounds due to limited parking.

The yearbooks are HERE!  Please pick up your pre-ordered yearbook from the main office.  There are yearbooks for sale through the bookkeeper.  Yearbooks are $75.

Academic Announcements:

Students - ALL Library materials are due TODAY!

All scholars planning on taking AP Literature and Composition with Mr. Thom next year need to drop by room 1472 before the end of the school year in order to pick up your summer work.  Mr. Thom looks forward to meeting with you!

Club & Activity Announcements:

If any student at LHS wants to join Student Council as an ambassador, you can see one of those officers or Ms. Prestel in the Social Studies office for a form.

Girls Basketball - Don't forget that our first ever summer tryouts are scheduled for Tuesday, May 17 from 4:00-6:00 & Saturday, May 21st from 9:00-11:00.  We are getting ready to go to the Next Level!

Attention Hockey Players! There will be a parent and player meeting for anyone interested in playing hockey in LPS on Wednesday May 18th at 6:00 pm at THE BOARDROOM Sports Bar & Steakhouse, 51 West Dry Creek Court. This meeting is for new players and parents or anyone who wants to learn more about Heritage Hockey!  There are changes to the Fundraising approach this year, so returning players and parents can come to the meeting to learn how to get some of your hockey paid for before school starts in the Fall!

Please bring your own bag to Whole Foods.  For every bag you reuse, including produce bags, the LHS greenhouse gets 10 cents. Please, don't forget to take your reusable bags to Whole Foods Southglenn for their Bag Donation Credit Program (specify money to go to LHS).  We are the recipients through June - the change adds up.  Less waste, fewer natural resources squandered more money for us!

The Girls Varsity soccer team advanced to the final 16 at State with a tremendous 1-0 road win against #12 ranked Durango. Sarah Payson scored the goal and goalkeeper Lily Jensen had the shutout. Congratulations ladies! The next round is on Saturday at Air Academy High School.

Attention Seniors!  You MUST go to the Post Grad Center TODAY to complete your Senior Exit Interview if you have not done so!  You need to do this before you can pick up your cap and gown for graduation at the Senior Breakfast tomorrow.  Also, please pay all outstanding fees/fines before you come see us.

For students needing help in Math & Science, Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here TONIGHT from 6:00-7:30pm in room 1740.  Please use the forum entrance.

Students - ALL Library materials are due back Friday!

Come see how cool Cross Country can be during our informational pre-season meeting TONIGHT at 6 p.m. in room 1329. Students and their parents are invited to meet the coaches, learn about summer running and hear about the season. Athletes of all abilities are welcome and little or no running experience is required for this no-cut sport. Hope to see you there!

Boys Lacrosse made it to the playoffs!  They head to Windsor TONIGHT for a 7pm game.  Good luck team!

Also in the playoffs is our Girls Soccer team!  They play Durango away tomorrow night at 5:30pm. Go Lions!

Open gyms continue TONIGHT for girls basketball from 6:00-7:30 in the North gym.  All players who plan to participate in our summer program are strongly encouraged to attend!  Also don't forget that our first ever summer tryouts are scheduled for Tuesday, May 17 from 4:00-6:00 & Saturday, May 21st from 9:00-11:00.  Getting ready to go to the Next Level!

STUDENT BULLETIN

Student Recognition and Congratulations!:

Congratulations to girls tennis on their great showing at regionals. Reganne Fornstrom placed 3rd at 2 singles, Tian McGuire and Lauren Weiss placed 3rd at 1 Doubles, Sophie Craig and Annalise Froelich placed 3rd at 3 doubles, and number 4 doubles team Ashby Bell and Abby Moses placed second and are going on to state!

Your Lion Ultimate teams endured every kind of weather last weekend at state! Your X Chromosome girls' team finished 6th, moving up from their 8th seed, and the guys were 12th in state!! Hope to see lots of you coming out for the mixed team in the fall.

Special Events:

Attention all students, there are mandatory class meetings TODAY starting at 8:45.  Please meet in the following locations:  Seniors-back of the library, Juniors--North Gym, Sophomores--Forum, and Freshmen--Theater.  We will see you there!
