Clubs and Activities:
There is a PEAS club meeting today (Tuesday the 24th) after school in room 1324.
The art contest is here! Art club is hosting a new year’s art competition with the theme; "Your hope for the new year". Make the best piece you can of any medium showing your resolutions. Make sure to find an art teacher or art club officer to get more information on the competition and have your work turned in for judging by February 14th at the latest. Go do good art!
Key Club will meet this Thursday at 2.15 in room 2620. Come and find out about the activities we have planned for this semester!
Attention NHS members! This week we are sponsoring a collection drive for families in need! We will be collecting bottles, diapers, or any lightly used toys (see full list of everything that can be collected posted around school and on the NHS Facebook page). Collection boxes will be in the counseling office and in the LA/Math office. Bring 2-3 items to fulfill the service project requirement.
Hey Littleton High School! NHS will be sponsoring a blood drive on Thursday, February 2nd and Friday, February 3rd here at LHS. Students under 18 will need a signed parental consent form. There are only 40 slots available each day, so please see Mr. Hahn or Ms. Fritz with questions and to sign up to donate on an off hour!
Special Events:
Attention All Students: This week is your LAST week to pre-order a yearbook! We will have some books for sale at the end of the year, but they will be on a first-come, first-served basis and we cannot guarantee that you will get one as we do sell out every year. To make sure you get a yearbook, you should pre-order this week with the bookkeeper.
The Winter Dance is February 11, 2017, guest forms are available at student services on the purple table. They must be returned by February 9, 2017.
Third Annual "Hour of Code"
Littleton High School's STEM Certificate Program will host our third annual "Hour of Code" event Wednesday, January 25th right after school in the LHS cafeteria between 2:30-4:30pm. All LPS students, staff and family members are welcome to join us for a chance to prove to yourself that YOU, yes YOU can write a genuine piece of computer code in about an hour. A link to the online sign up is in the Announcements section of the LHS homepage. FREE Chipotle snacks for those who complete their hour.
Academics:
Attention Juniors & Seniors: An admissions rep from the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs will be here to meet with students Wednesday, January 25th, at 9:30 in the Post Grad Center. Please sign up on Naviance to attend this meeting.
Attention IB-track sophomores:
There is an important meeting for you this Thursday, January 26, regarding the decision to continue into the IB Diploma Program next year, or to exit. Come to the Forum during A or B lunch. We will share important information about the IB commitment, including course registration details and a letter for your parents. This meeting is mandatory for IB-track sophomores. Feel free to bring your lunch. Questions?? See Ms. Anderson or Mrs. Stulock in the IB office in the library.
Sports:
Hey everyone let's show our support for the winning girls basketball team by going to Valor tomorrow night and making it a BLACK OUT game!! So, find your friends who have cars and plan on carpooling over to Valor for the 7pm game!! See you there!!
The entire baseball team is holding indoor workouts from 2:15 until 4:00 pm, each day in the large gym.
There will be a girls tennis meeting on January 31st at 2:25 in room 1219 for all girls interested in going out for girl's tennis.
School is hard enough but then add an extracurricular activity like athletics and sometimes it feels like you don't even have time to eat. But you do - and you must - in order to properly fuel and accomplish all you want. Join us for Nutrition 101 on Monday, January 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Forum to learn about what kinds of food you need when so that you can perform at your best on the field and in the classroom. All LHS student-athletes and their families are invited to attend. $5 for students, $10 for families cash or check at the door. Contact Coach Ayers or Coach Graef with questions.
Blog Announcements:
Attention students needing help with Math or Science - Lockheed Martin Tutoring will resume next week. Lockheed Martin Engineers come every Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30pm to tutor our students. This is a free and amazing service they provide. Tutoring is in room 1740, please use the Forum entrance.
Attention Seniors! Post Grad is receiving new scholarship opportunities every day. Check the bulletin board in the Language Arts hallway outside of Post Grad often.
Transcripts! Attention Seniors applying to college! Remember that your transcript needs to be ordered 10 school days before your college deadline! We want all of your materials to arrive at your colleges on time, so take note of these popular application deadlines and your LHS deadlines:
