Student Congratulations and Recognition:

The girls varsity soccer team beat #6 ranked Air Academy High School by a score of 4-1 last night in Colorado Springs. It was a majestic performance by the girls. Sarah Payson scored all four goals, one was assisted by Carlisle Maney. Great job ladies!

The JV Lions soccer team beat Air Academy 7-1 yesterday. An all around team effort! Nice job ladies.

Congrats to the following track athletes who finished in the top 3 at last night's track meet against Arapahoe, Heritage, Ft. Collins, Rocky Mtn and Poudre HS...
3rd place fishers were:
Marina Cannon in Pole Vault
Kendrick Carter in 110m High Hurdles
The 4x4 and 4x8 teams made up of Charlie Meserve, Jason Levy, Devin Young, Matt Vega, Bruce Barnstable, Christian Sapakoph and Christian Olson
2nd place finishers were the boys 4x100m relay with Matt Norwood, Matt Vega , Jason Levy and Dalton Mhlanga, Brittany Line in Shot put, Tyler Woodard in Discus
Meet Champions were Addi Iken in the 1600m run, Bruce Barnstable in the 3290m run and Christian Sapakoph in the 800!

Your Lion Ultimate open team pulled off an impressive universe point win over Heritage 11-10 yesterday. The girls played Denver East and continue to improve. 10 of the 19 girls on the X Chromosomes have been playing ultimate for only 3 weeks and are learning quickly and having fun!

Academics:

The LHS Swim Proficiency test will be Wednesday, April 12th at 9:30 a.m. Sign-up in the Counseling Office starting Monday, April 3rd. Space is limited to the first 30 students.

State Testing is coming soon! Mark your calendars!
Seriously put these dates in your phone or in your planner.
Juniors you will be taking the SAT on Tuesday, April 11 and the CMAS Science on Thursday, April 13.
Sophomores you will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, April 12.
And Freshman you will be taking the CMAS English/Language Arts & Math tests on Tuesday - Thursday, April 11 - 13.
And one other important date -  April 5 will be an Odd-period Seminar day, and Seminar that day will be extended.  Juniors and Sophomores will be completing pre-assessment tasks (aka bubblint).  Freshmen you will be completing CMAS prep activities, and seniors will have a challenging and fun activity to pass on their wisdom and advice.
The bell schedule for April 5, and the testing days bell schedules are posted on the LHS website.

Clubs and Activities:

Key Club will meet this Thursday in room 2620 at 2:15 p.m.  Please come for updates on upcoming projects.

The Model UN Club will meet today at 2:20pm in room 2609. If you are interested in participating in the last Model UN Conference of the year on Saturday, April 22nd at the Denver Center for International Studies please attend this meeting.

Attention students needing help in Math or Science - Lockheed Martin Engineers come every Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30pm to tutor our students.  This is a free and amazing tutoring service that Lockheed Martin provides.  Tutoring is in room 1740, please use the Forum entrance.
