Student Congratulations and Recognition:

Congratulations to the Baseball Team for their 10-9 extra inning victory over Valor last night. George Schiebel was selected the Player of the Game.
He went four for five at the plate with four singles,two runs scored and two runs batted in. Good Luck Friday as the team faces Golden at 4:00pm.

Academics:

Current 9th, 10th & 11th graders --
We have a few courses available for the 2017-18 school year that were not on the registration card or others that have some space available.  If you are interested in any of these courses, please go to the Counseling Office to see a detailed course description and to sign up if you are interested.   Highlighted today is IB Sports, Exercise and Health Science

Attention all juniors and seniors – The science department is offering a new year-long class starting in the fall, called IB Sports, Exercise and Health Science. Do you think you want to be a physical therapist or start a career in sports medicine? Are you interested in sports and how athletes perform? Are you intrigued by how a person’s mind affects his body?  If so, then come to the counseling office and fill out a quick application for this new course. This class if for all juniors and seniors, not just IB diploma students. Applications are due to Mrs. Tran in counseling by May 10, 2017. Hurry up before the class fills to capacity.
Other courses available are:
Rock'n Pop - a Fine Arts elective open to 10th - 12th graders
IB Global Politics - a Social Studies elective open to 11th & 12th graders
AP Environmental Science - a Science elective open to 11th & 12th graders

Clubs and Activities:

Attention NHS members! Monday is our last meeting of the year. Come watch speeches, vote for your 2017-2018 officers, have some ice cream, and brainstorm suggestions for how to make next year's NHS even better! See you there!

The LHS Mountain Bike Team is looking for interested riders to join the team next fall.  If you like to ride mountain bikes and might be interested in joining the school's team, please join us for an information meeting on Wednesday, May 10 at 7:00 in Room 1335.  If you can't make the meeting, please feel free to check out the Team's website at https://sites.google.com/a/lps.k12.co.us/lhs-mtb-team/home for more information.

The Yearbooks are Here!  If you pre-ordered a yearbook, you can pick up your book on Monday, May 8 after school in the South Gym.  Don't miss out on being among the first students to see this awesome book.  If you cannot make distribution on Monday, your book will be waiting for you in the main office. If you didn't pre-purchase a book, it is not too late.  We will have a limited number of books for sale at the bookkeeper's window beginning at 7a.m. on Tuesday, May 9. Don't delay!  Once they are gone we cannot get anymore. Cash or check to LHS Yearbook $75.00

It's Choir Pops Concert week!  Shows are tonight and tomorrow night at 7 p.m.   Tickets are $7 and tickets will be sold in the front lobby box office during lunches.

Students please be aware that we will be collecting chromebooks soon and if there are any broken ones, they need to be repaired BEFORE May 10th.  The first repair is FREE so If you have waited because you were afraid of getting into trouble - don't worry.  We just want working computers so we can reuse them next year. "

Attention Seniors! All your Library materials (books and calculators), including chromebooks, are due back to the library on Friday, May 12th.
9th, 10th and 11th graders, chromebooks will need to be returned on May 17th. Your library materials are due May 19th.
