STUDENT BULLETIN

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The Varsity Football team had a great team effort to beat the Kennedy Commanders 22-21 for the first win of the season.  Matt Norwood rushed for 238 yards with two touchdowns, Zack Marquez threw a touchdown to Nico Corradino and Josiah Trawick kicked an extra point and field goal.   Come out and support them this week as they play the Adam City Eagles.  The C-Team plays this Friday, Sept 22nd at LHS lower field and the Varsity plays on Saturday, Sept 23rd at 1pm at Adams City, 7200 Quebec Parkway, Commerce City, CO 80022.  Go Lions!!

The boys soccer program is undefeated going into league play this week. On Saturday, JV beat Thornton 4 to 2 and Varsity shutout Thornton 4 to 0, with Zach Maguire scoring a brace.

Another big congratulations to the LHS Cross Country Team! The team took on a very rigorous course at Snow Mountain Ranch on Saturday with some great results! Senior Addi Iken crushed it again, winning the girl's race! Way to go, Addi! Overall, the girls scored fourth, which is a huge accomplishment, as this is the most challenging race of the season.

On our boys team, junior Christian Sapakoff scored second in the boys race! Great job Christian! The boys finished second overall! A big congratulations to them! Runners all around improved greatly on their times from last year, and showed some solid pack running! This was a terrific race for LHS, amplified by the difficulty of the course -- running up and down mountains at altitude!

It’s a busy week for cross country! Wish them luck on their races at Denver North on Tuesday and the Dave Sanders Invitational on Friday!
