STUDENT BULLETIN

STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

Congratulations to LHS Orchestra students, Elissa Volling, Emma Nelson and Logan Nelson.  These students not only successfully auditioned for the 2017 Western States Honor Orchestra, they were also all selected as 1st chair, principal players of their sections, an outstanding honor.

Our speech and debate team got off to a strong start on Saturday, competing at the Cherry Creek Classic tournament.  Rebecca Zickerman and Kenneth Hunyh led the way.  Rebecca took 7th place in original oratory and Kenneth took 10th in Lincoln Douglas debate.  Will Luem, Kait Schultz, Hannah Pederson, Ashlyn McVicar, Natalie Parkhurst, Ivy Secrest, Addie Bouck, Jack Rayner and Hayley Hamilton were awarded excellent distinction in their events, and Will Dinneen earned superior mention in debate, as well.  Great way to start the season, Lions!"

ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Attention poets and writers!  Jovan Mays is returning to LHS for a slam workshop on Tuesday, November 7th, after school in Ms. Thieme's room, room 1745.  Please bring your poems to workshop so we can be ready for the LPS District Poetry Slam, on Tuesday, November 14th.  Talk to your language arts teacher for more details."

Attention Juniors and Seniors!  We will host admissions reps from Stephens College and Hawaii Pacific today. A rep from Adams State which is in Alamosa, Colorado will be here tomorrow.  Sign up on your Naviance account in order to attend.

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Attention all Student Council officers, ambassadors and general council members we have a Student Council General Council meeting today Nov. 6th at 2:25 in the forum.  PLEASE be there, we are getting our picture taken for the Yearbook!!  Please wear a class shirt or a student council shirt.

Students: Do you need an eye exam or a pair of glasses, but you don’t have the means to get them.  If so, we have a program to help students with these needs.  Please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office for more information.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Preseason Camp for girls basketball (begins Monday and) continues through Thursday from 3:00-5:00 each day in the North gym.  Come sharpen your skills and get ready for tryouts later this week.  All girls considering trying out this year should plan to attend. Tryouts for the 2017-2018 season take place Friday and Saturday of this week!"

Preseason minicamp for Boys Basketball is Monday and Tuesday (11/6 and 11/7) from 5-7 pm in the North Gym.Boys Basketball tryouts are Friday and Saturday (11/10 and 11/11). Friday is 5-8 pm for all levels and Saturday will be 8-10 am for all levels. Make sure to have your registration and physical in. You will not be allowed to tryout without your clearance card-don't miss out on the opportunity to play basketball this season.

BLOG ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Parents, Thursday and Friday this week is the Lions follies and the Lions follies baked goods concession stand. We need your help stocking the shelves. Please sign up on the following link to make up some goodies or pick up treats at the store

Wanna be a hero and help save lives?  Did you know that approximately 10% of all blood donations come from high school blood drives?
National Honor Society is sponsoring a blood drive right here at Littleton High School on November 9th and 10th.  If you would like to donate blood please contact Mr. Hahn.  There are a limited number of spots and donors will be signed up on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The Swim Proficiency test at LHS will be Wednesday, November 8th at 2:30pm sharp! Sign-up in the Counseling Office, space is limited to the first 30 students.
