Collection started Thurs. Dec. 7, and will finish after the new year, so look through your closets and give to our Veterans.

Students, each year, the Optimist Club sponsors an essay contest with a $2,500 college scholarship award. The topic for this year's contest is "Can Society Function Without Respect?" LHS students who were under the age of 18 on October 1stof this year are eligible to participate.  The deadline to submit essays is  February 12, 2018.  Application information is available at www.optimistinternational.org.  We'd love to see an LHS student win this award, so check out the website today.

Giving Snowman is here!  This very special Snowman is a way for all of us at LHS to give some gifts to the Musana Orphans in Uganda, Africa.  Pick a snowflake off the Snowman and buy the gifts suggested on the snowflake and it will be sent to Uganda to give a young Ugandan a wonderful holiday surprise!  Bring the gifts up to Ms. Prestel's desk in the Social Studies office by Dec. 21.
