STUDENT BULLETIN

STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

Congratulations to the entire girl's basketball program for their sweep of defending state champion Evergreen on Saturday!  Our varsity team beat the #2 team in the state 56-51 thanks to an incredible 4th quarter.  Sophomore Susie Puchino led the team with 17 points and perfect shooting on the day.  Junior Sydney Elder hit 3 huge shots in the 4th to also help kickstart the team's amazing run!  Great job Lions!!"

A huge congratulations goes out to our LHS speech and debate team as they competed at the First Annual Never Again Tournament held at Chatfield High School.  The team was lead by the sophomores, as Rebecca Zickerman was tournament champion in original oratory, and Maddie Engeman was also tournament champion in informative speaking.  Also performing well were Ally Procopio who placed 5th in informative, Julia Valdez who placed 3rd in poetry, and Ben Greenly and Grace Greenly placed 3rd in duo.  Great job, team!

ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Attention Juniors!  On Wednesday for Seminar you will be meeting your Seminar teacher in either the Theater or the Forum for a special presentation.  Please look at the lists posted on our bulletin boards for your Seminar.  Remember you will go directly there and sit with your Seminar class. 

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Please come out this Saturday night for our winter dance.  This year's theme is 'Galaxy/Glow in the Dark."  Come dressed to the theme, dress in a school appropriate costume, or just dress up nice.  The dance is this Saturday, from 8-11pm, and you can buy tickets in the cafeteria all week long during A and B lunches.  Tickets are 8.00.  Guest forms for the dance are due on Wednesday.
And all week long we are celebrating with spirit days in preparation for the dance and pep assembly.  Today is sci fi day, so come down to the cafeteria during A and B lunches and show your sci-fi spirit to the ticket sellers for your chance to win a prize.
Tuesday is blackout day, Wednesday is glitter/sparkle day, Thursday is twin day, and of course, Friday wear your class shirt for the assembly.

Littleton High School Performing Arts is proud to present Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Performances are March 1st-3rd in the Littleton Main Stage Theatre. Thursday & Friday shows are at 7pm and Saturday will have two shows at 1pm & 6pm. Tickets are general admission and are $12 adults/$8 for students. They can be purchased online at lhsperformingarts.net. Get your tickets early as this show is sure to sell out!

It's February and that means Val-O-Grams!!  Find a Student Council member and send a gram to a friend, or a someone you have a crush on or to your special squeeze!  They are only $1 and include a flower with your Gram, to be delivered on Valentine's Day Wed. Feb. 14th!  All proceeds go towards our LHS PROM! 

The Spirit Committee wants you to come out and support Girls Basketball on Friday, Feb. 9th when it is CLUB APPRECIATION NIGHT!!  Anyone here at LHS who is involved in a club--including Student Council kids, can get into the game for only $1 if they don’t have an athletic pass.  Just pick up a special ticket from your club sponsor, Mrs. Gobble or Ms. Prestel.  Included in your admission is a raffle ticket to win some fun LHS gear!  We will also be having games at halftime where you could win a pair of Winter Dance tickets!  Finally, wear your class t-shirt during the day for the Winter Pep Rally, but then put on a Hawaiian Shirt for the game--because it is Hawaiian Night too!!  So, come one come all and have a blast with the Girls basketball team and Club Appreciation Night!!

Attention all Student Council Officers, Ambassadors, and General council members, there is no meeting today.

Your Littleton DECA students want to remind you that if you are looking to be a part of DECA next year, your first step is to sign up for Marketing 1 class as you fill out your electives portion of registration this week.  This is the required course for participation in DECA.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Decker in room 1977, or talk to any DECA member.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Attention Track and Field Athletes, Please plan on attending a brief, but important, pre-season meeting on Thursday, Feb 8th from 2:30-3p. in the forum. Please see Coach Koepke with questions!  Track On!

Girl's Tennis Meeting this Thursday, February 8, at 2:30 in Room 1971. Please come if you are interested in joining the team!

Registration for the 2018-2019 school year will be in the Forum during A or B lunch on the following dates:
Current 8th graders for freshman year             February 5th  (during EHS lunch)
Current 9th graders for sophomore year          February 5th & 6th
Current 10th graders for junior year                 February 8th & 9th
Current 11th graders for senior year                February 12th & 13th

We will be joined by a geologist on February 15th who will talk about the ways geologists are in demand in everything from the drone industry to video game design.
