STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

Congratulations to your LHS Boys ultimate frisbee team, the Biggleton Saucegods for their dominant 13-4 victory over Arapahoe yesterday after senior Lucas “Sir Lulu” Ogilvie managed to recover the disc in the end zone in an unbelievable play to score the winning point.

ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Students 8th - 11th grades - the testing room assignments for next week are posted in three locations (main lobby, outside of Counseling office and outside of the North gym). Please locate your name and note which room you need to report to during your testing time or times.

Attention Juniors and Seniors.  An admissions rep from the University of California at Santa Cruz will be here today at 9:30.  Stop by Post Grad to pick up a pass to attend.

Seniors in STEM- Please check your emails. Information for Senior STEM Boards is due by the end of this week, along with your completed portfolios. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Bartlett.

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Are you a leader?  Do you want to be a leader?  If you answered YES to either of those questions, then you need to join Student Council!!  Election information packets are now available in the main office or up in room 2610 with Ms. Prestel.  Student Council is one of the largest and busiest clubs in the school and we are always looking for energetic and creative students to become our officers! Speeches are due April 30 and elections are May 2!  Come on and get involved in your LHS community!!

The 2018 Junior Senior Prom will be held on April 28th from 8 - 11 pm.  The event is located at the Denver Children's Museum in Downtown Denver.  Parking will be available on site. Stay tuned for further announcements regarding spirit days, ticket sales, and more.  We hope to see you there!

Prom and After Prom Guest forms are available at student services, and the main office. They are due back Thursday, April 26th, 2018.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

All girls basketball players should plan on attending a brief but very important meeting next Tuesday, April 10th in the Health Room immediately after school.  We will be discussing summer basketball opportunities and important dates. Please make sure to be there!"

Attention Seniors!  Get your picture on the bulletin board!  Stop by the Post Grad Center and let us know about your plans for after high school:  the college you've decided on, the trade or technical school you've chosen, the gap year you'll be taking, the apprenticeship you have lined up, the branch of the military you're entering, or whatever!  We'll put you on the map!

Seniors, you get a free t-shirt at the end of your year and we want YOU to design it!!  Usually this shirt has the school colors somehow incorporated as well as your grad year and the senior motto, which is: To Infinity and Beyond!  If you would like to design this shirt, talk to Reganne Fornstrom or Ms Prestel.  The Due date is April 12th!

The Swim Waiver test will be Wednesday, April 11th at 8:30 a.m. sharp! Sign-up in the Counseling Office, space is limited to the first 30 students.

Simply go into Naviance under  "College I'm Applying To", and click the "Results" link.  This is important and will help us to send your final transcript to the college you will attend. If you have questions, please stop by Post Grad for answers!

STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

The LHS Boys Lacrosse team beat the previously undefeated and 8th ranked Ponderosa Mustangs on Wednesday night 15-10. The Lions were lead by Matty Paredes with 6 goals and 2 assists, Liam O'Malley with 3 goals and 3 assists and Patrick Little in goal with 11 saves. Strong performances were turned in by Tyler Ervin, Trevor Deshon, Duke Hindman and Reid Ervin as well. The Lions' next home game is Saturday, April 7th at 11 AM against #10 Windsor HS.

LHS is excited to host a FREE cheer & pom clinic on Tuesday, April 10th from 3-5 p.m. in the cafeteria.The clinic will focus on the fundamental elements of cheerleading and pom, so if you've never done this before, or simply want to perfect your skills, this is a perfect opportunity for you.
We're bringing in some of the best spirit coaches in the state of Colorado to help with this event and you're not going to want to miss out!

The girl,s tennis team won 7-0 Tuesday, April 3rd against Wheat Ridge. The team record is 3-0. Next match is away at Golden this Thursday.

Girls Ultimate Frisbee team won their 4th game against Compass Montessori, 13-1. The game was well spirited, fun and the girls showed much improvement.

Hunt for your sources of strength.  The sources of strength positive messaging committee has posted 8 pie pieces representing the 8 sources of strength around the school building.  Find all 8 pieces and take a selfie with each one.  Take your pictures to Katie Smith - our fabulous health assistant in the main office.  The first two juniors to collect pictures of all the pie pieces will win a prom ticket and the first two from all other grade levels will win gift cards.  You must appear in all the pictures to claim the prize.  Happy Hunting!
