STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

Congratulations to the girl's varsity soccer team who reached the final of the Arapahoe tournament by beating Arapahoe 4-2 last night. Sarah Payson had two goals and an assist, Sarah Gray one goal and an assist, and Anna Newby one goal and an assist. Arapahoe is ranked #1 in 5A. What a win!!

The JV girls soccer team beat Monarch 2-0. Whoop! Whoop!

Congratulations to your boy's ultimate frisbee team, the Biggleton Saucegods, as they continued their win streak with a 12-7 victory over Rock Canyon yesterday, after a hard fight through what seemed like hurricane force winds and torrential downpour, the final result confirmed what was known all along: we have the sauce.

ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Attention Junior and Seniors!  An admissions rep from CSU-Pueblo will be here in Post Grad today at 11:00am.  Please stop by Post Grad if you need a pass to attend

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

LHS goes local!  The cafeteria will be serving lettuce grown in our very own greenhouse. (Yes, there is a greenhouse.) Pick up a salad for lunch.

Get your Spring on. Come to the Greenhouse Club meeting on Tuesday, March 20th immediately after school.  We will be planting, transplanting and, yes, there will be food.

Attention seniors!!  There are still spots available for speakers at graduation!  We know a lot of you have something to say to your class, here's your chance to give a positive and uplifting message-sign up to speak a graduation.  Sign up sheets are in the main office, BUT ONLY UNTIL TODAY!! So, so sign up quickly!

Attention all Student Council officers, ambassadors and general council members, there is a very important meeting on Monday March 19th in the forum starting at 2:25.  PLEASE BE THERE!!

Monday March 19th, Student Council has an important guest speaker coming to talk to us about the March for our Lives-Colorado event taking place on March 24th.  His name is Tey Andersson and he is the HEAD of the March for our Lives-Colorado chapter.  This is the organization that was started by the Parkland students and has gone Nation-wide.  Tey is a very recent graduate (last year) of East High School and serves on the Denver School Board as well as 2 Colorado Congressional Committees.  He has been an amazing voice for getting students involved in their district and states youth issues.  We will be meeting in the forum starting at 2:30 on Monday--see you there and bring a friend!

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

There will be a short meeting on Monday the 19th in the north gym for anyone who is thinking about playing football next year

For all of you Chipotle lovers out there, and I know there are a lot of you, PTO is hosting a fundraiser at the Chipotle across the street.  Come with friends and enjoy a burrito Tuesday, March 20th from 5-9.  Bring a flyer or mention that you are with LHS, and half of everything you spend will go towards LHS After-Prom.  Tell your friends, tell your parents…just please participate.

LHS will host our second annual "Trade & Tech Fair"  next Tuesday, March 20th between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm in the North Gym.  If you're beginning to plan for your life after high school, and want to find out more about alternatives to going to college, stop by during your lunch period or an OFF period. You'll have the chance to get information and speak with representatives from a wide variety of non-college options.

STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

The Lions beat Prairie View last night 13-9. LHS was down 3-0 after the 1st quarter. The Lions then fought back for the victory behind strong offensive performances by Liam O'Malley ( 6 goals) and Matty Paredes (6 goals & 2 assists). The defense was led by Reid Ervin who shut down PV's top player after the 1st quarter. Tyler Ervin led the midfielders with 7 ground balls and an assist.

Congratulations to the girl's varsity soccer team for their 3-2 victory over 5A powerhouse Ralston Valley last night. Sarah Payson scored one, Katie Puchino scored two and Sarah Gray and Erin Malloy had assists. What a fantastic win ladies!!

Attention Junior and Seniors!  Tomorrow we'll host admissions reps from Chadron State University, and on Friday CSU-Pueblo will be here.  Please stop by Post Grad if you need a pass to attend.

Juniors - If you haven't yet had your junior meeting in the Post Grad Center, you are running out of time!  Our final meetings are scheduled for March 23, and time slots are limited, but you CAN still schedule a meeting! Please sign up using the SignUp Genius links you received in Seminar, or stop by the Post Grad Center, and we can sign you up.

Stem Students: Our next STEM lunch will be next Tuesday, 3/20. We will hear from a former LHS student who now works on rockets for the United Launch Alliance. Please RSVP by tomorrow so we have a food headcount. If you have any questions see Mrs. Bartlett.

Girls Ultimate dominated their game against CIVA with a score of 12 to 3. Sophomore Jaden Price made 9 scores and Sophomore Dilara Ertunc had 10 assists. Also shoutout to Sophomore Hannah Sanders with spicy Ds.

Trade and Tech Fair
Post Grad will be hosting a Trade and Tech Fair in the North Gym on Tuesday, March 20th, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm.  Students can drop in any time.  These organizations and more will be in attendance: Apartment Association of Metro Denver Maintenance Apprentice Program, Build Colorado/Construction Careers Now, Community College Certificate Programs (Arapahoe Community College, Community College of Denver, Red Rocks Community College), Emily Griffith Technical College, Rocky Mountain School of Art & Design, Lincoln Tech, Wagner Training Institute, Job Corps.  Please spread the word among your students!

STUDENT BULLETIN

STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

Congrats to the track team who competed against athletes from 26 other schools this past Saturday. Top Placers were as follows:
Boys 4x8 Team of Christian Sapakoph, Christian Olsen, Donny Marshall and Henry Jackson were 7th place.
Jason Levy was 7th in the 100m Dash
Trevor McMillan was 6th in the High Jump
Addi Iken was 4th in the 800 and 3rd in the 1600m Run.
Brittany Line was 6th in Discus and 1st Place in the Shot Put.
The Track team has a home JV meet this Friday and compete at Arapahoe HS on Saturday!

Congratulations to the girls Varsity soccer team on their two win start to the season. They beat Chaparral 2-1 last Thursday and Pomona 5-0 on Saturday. They begin play in the Arapahoe Tournament against Ralston Valley on Wednesday. Good luck ladies!

Congratulations to the girls JV soccer team who started the season with wins over Chaparral and Pomona. Brooke Wolanin and the defense has yet to concede a goal!

Congratulations to the girls soccer C team, on their 4-1 come from behind victory against Arrupe Jesuit.  Lucia Arndt lead the scoring with 3 and Sierra Martinez added 1, a great team effort!

Congratulations to our boy's swim & dive team - they had an excellent opening weekend, hosting Lakewood on Friday and participating in the Relay Meet at Arapahoe on Saturday. A special shout out goes to Reid Fornstrom, who swam his first State qualifying time on Friday. Way to go, Reid! Come support the Lionfish at their next home meet vs. Golden this Friday at 4:00!

The boys lacrosse team played two great games last week, unfortunately falling just short against Heritage and Thompson Valley. They look to rebound this week with an away game at Prairie View Wednesdy night starting at 7:00.

On Saturday at Bear Creek High School, 15 students from the Early High School social studies class participated in the Denver Metro Regional National History Day Competition. Twelve of them made it to the finalist round and 7 earned top honors.  First, second and third place winners will compete at state on May 5th. EXHIBIT - INDIVIDUAL
