STUDENT BULLETIN:

A friendly reminder there is no school on Monday the 21st for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will see you here again on Tuesday the 22nd!

Attention, Sophomores who are in Chemistry AND Spanish or French 2 or higher, you are invited to an IB pizza lunch on Tuesday in Room 1329. Come get a free lunch and learn more about IB. Current IB students will be there, talking about their experiences. Sign up with Mrs. Clapsaddle in the counselling office.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Registration for Spring Sports is now open on the Athletic website - littletonlions.net. The first day for Spring Sports is Monday, February 25th.

Congratulations to your Unified Basketballers for finishing 2-2 yesterday at the Colorado High School Adapted Tournament. Your Lions showed great pride and heart against teams from around the state! Unified's next game is Tuesday at 4:15 pm at Englewood.

Don't miss Littleton's wrestling rivalry dual vs Heritage today at 6:00 pm at Heritage High School. Our last home dual of the season will be Thursday, January 31st, at 6:00 pm vs Standley Lake. Come out and cheer on your LHS wrestling team!

And, a special shout out to Katie Barron! Katie will be competing in the 1st year pilot wrestling regionals for girls at Eaglecrest High School on Saturday, February 9th. Way to represent LHS, Katie!

Boys Wrestling will be competing to qualify for state at regionals on Friday, February 15th, and Saturday, February 16th, at Lewis-Palmer High School in Colorado Springs. Good luck to our LHS wrestlers as they finish up their season!

Please join us for our PTO meeting on Tuesday, January 22nd, at 9:00 am, in the main office conference room. Our principal, Dr. Oaks, will be at the meeting to share information and to answer questions with everyone regarding the IB Middle Years Program that LHS hopes to implement next year.

Parents, did you know all LHS students have been invited to our first ACTS Fair next Thursday, January 24th, between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. We will have representatives from the Area Career & Technical School programs like Auto Tech, Cosmetology, Early Childhood Education, Teacher Cadet, Health Sciences, and ProStart culinary here in the front lobby. Stop by to learn more about taking these classes.

STUDENT BULLETIN:

Second semester fees and winter sports fees have been added to Infinite Campus and are due. These fees may be paid at the Bookkeeper’s window with cash or check. Credit card payments may be done online only, at our website. Thank you!

Beginning in January, Littleton High School will partner with the United States Army to pilot a STAR Club. Students Taking Active Roles was created to leverage the expertise and resources of local US Army Soldiers to help students develop skills that will enable and encourage them to take active roles in their own life, within their families, their school and community, with the ultimate goal of graduating high school and creating enriching postsecondary options. Topics of discussion include time management, study skills, leadership, conflict resolution, team building, physical fitness and many more.

The STAR Club will meet weekly on Wednesday afternoons from 3:45 - 4:45 pm, beginning January 30th. The sponsor for this club is Jon Mathews, LHS Campus Supervisor. Any LHS student is invited to participate. There is no fee to participate. Students who would like to participate can sign up in the attendance office.

Registration for Spring Sports is now open on the Athletic website - littletonlions.net. The first day for Spring Sports is Monday, February 25th.

Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Basketball Lions who defeated the Legend Titans last night! Our team showed great heart in battling back from behind to earn a 46-43 victory. Junior Susie Puchino led the way with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Great job, ladies! Come out and support your Lions at home on Saturday at 1:00 as they take on the Green Mountain Rams.

Your LPS Ice Hockey team is playing a big game on their home ice against Monarch today at South Suburban at 7:50 pm. Come out to support the team and cheer them on!

Your LPS Hockey team had 2 great wins last week. They beat Kent Denver on Thursday 4-3 and beat Castle View on Saturday 4-2. Come out to cheer the team on as they play Monarch on Thursday at 7:50 pm on their home ice at South Suburban.

The Lions Unified Basketball team started off the season with a great team effort last night. After being down by 10 points in the fourth quarter, the Lions stormed back and almost tied it up at the end of regulation in a close 56-54 loss to South Suburban. Senior Scott Bourg finished the night with 12 points and 7 rebounds, and freshmen Ian Jorgensen had an excellent debut with 10 points. Way to represent, Lions. Good luck on Thursday at the Colorado High School Adapted Basketball Tournament at Gold Crown!

Seniors, if you requested your transcript be sent to colleges during first semester, please know that your mid-year transcripts will automatically be sent. You do not need to request it. Thank you!

Students, as we kick off the second semester, remember that you must have a parking pass to park in a school lot. You can purchase discounted parking permits at the Bookkeeper’s window for only $25. Also, we still have student planners for sale for only $5 at the Bookkeeper’s window. Start your new year off organized and ready!

Our speech and debate team competed over the weekend at the Patriot Games at George Washington High School. It was a tough day with a lot of strong competition, but Senior Julia Valdez captured her third first place victory in a row in poetry. Also performing well and receiving outstanding honors were Ethan Rogers & Trevor Metz, Ashley Feldman, Arik McCubbin, Ben Greenly & Grace Greenly, Elianajoy Volin, Natalie Parkhurst, Jack Rogers, Kenneth Huynh, Kate Lurie, and Ally Procopio. And earning excellent honors were James Zieper and Sarah Young, Rebecca Zickerman, Hadley Williamson, Alli Johnson, Maggie Higgins & Adeline Bradley, Nicholas Hopper, Hannah Pederson, Rudolph Cayou, and Maddie Engeman. Great job, team!
