STUDENT BULLETIN:

Happy February!

Attention, Juniors, and Seniors! An admissions rep from Arapahoe Community College will be here this morning. If you need a pass to attend this meeting, stop by Post Grad.

Jazz In the Lobby is today after school in the Main Lobby. Come and enjoy live Jazz Music presented by your own LHS Jazz Band.

Be sure to get your spirit on next week by participating in our dress-up days! On Monday, grab your cape, and dress as your favorite superhero! Tuesday, pick a character from the past and bring them to life! On Wednesday, dress as you would if you were going to the Coachella music festival. Get your sci-fi on for Thursday, and as always, we will end the week with class t-shirt day on Friday! We hope to see you all dressed up!

Attention, all students, the Winter Dance will be held on Saturday, February 9th, from 8:00 -11:00 pm in the South Gym. The theme is Hollywood Film. Students are welcome to dress in theme attire or in semi-formal wear; all must be dress code appropriate.
Tickets will go on sale starting Monday, February 4th, at the Attendance Window during lunches. Tickets are $8 pre-sale or $10 at the door. Students must bring their school ID to the dance. Guest forms are also available in Student Services and must be handed in by Thursday, February 7th.

Registration for the 2019-2020 school year will be in the Forum during A and B lunch. Please listen for your grade level and the dates.
Current 9th graders for sophomore year - February 4th & 5th
Current 10th graders for junior year - February 7th & 8th
Current 11th graders for senior year - February 11th & 12th

There is a General Council meeting for all Student Council members next Tuesday, February 5th. We will be handing out Val-O-Grams and signing up for Read Across America!

Congratulations to the Littleton Wrestling team for beating Standley Lake in last night’s home dual 42-36! Good luck today in the League Championships at Wheat Ridge and in the Gilpin Invitational this Saturday!

Students, please remember the deadline to pre-order a yearbook is tomorrow! You can pre-order through your Infinite Campus account, or bring money to the bookkeeper. The deadline to apply for Yearbook or Newspaper is also tomorrow! Applications can be given to Mrs. Fisher in room 1744 or left at her desk in the Language Arts office.

We will have a limited number of copies for sale at the end of the year, but once they sell out, they are gone, and last year, we sold out in 2 days! The first meeting for STAR Club, Students Taking Active Roles, will take place today from 3:45 - 4:45 pm in Room 1602. Any LHS student is invited to participate! Students who would like to sign-up can do so at the Attendance Office.

Key Club will meet tomorrow at 7:50 am in room 2620. We will be working on our Kits for Kids project. Please visit the Key Club website to sign up to purchase some basic first aid supplies for the kits, and bring them to the meeting on Thursday.

Tonight is Spirit Night for Girls Basketball! Our Girls Basketball team will take on cross-town rival Evergreen in a tough league match. We want everyone to wear purple for a “Purple Explosion” Spirit Night! There will be games and prizes at halftime and some LHS swag to win! Wear purple, and help cheer our girls to a victory! Game time is 7:30!

Boosters will be selling LHS apparel tonight! Look for them in the hall outside the gym.

“College Information Night" will take place tonight from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors, and their families, are strongly encouraged to attend this information-packed evening. We'll have experts presenting at a wide variety of different 30-minute breakout sessions. We encourage both parents and students to attend so that you can split up and attend as many different short breakout sessions as possible. And, we will raffle off a variety of door prizes including Chipotle and Starbucks gift cards and LHS spirit wear. All students can enter the drawing at the event!

The LHS Boys Lacrosse spring season kick-off parent/player meeting is Thursday, January 31st, at 7:00 pm in the LHS forum. Please save the date on your calendar and plan to attend. We will review the upcoming spring season, discuss uniform information, have spirit wear available to order and purchase, and much more. Players with no previous lacrosse experience, but those who would like to learn about the team, are encouraged to attend. The LHS Lacrosse team has equipment for new players to use if they want to give the sport a try.

Students, starting this week, we will be reading to you the Character Corner Word of the Week, straight out of your LHS student planner. The word for this week is Cleanliness. Cleanliness is practicing good personal hygiene. Benjamin Franklin once said, “Clean your finger before you point at my spots.” Please ponder that; it’s pretty simple yet profound!
