Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Girls cross country team for their outstanding performance last night at the regional meet, where they ran hard and are now heading to the State Cross Country meet on Saturday Oct. 30th!!!! Way to go girls.

Congratulations to Garrett Sapakoff for his amazing performance last night at the regional meet where he took 6th place, which earned him the opportunity to run at the State Cross Country meet on Saturday Oct. 30th!!! Way to go Garrett.

Club Announcements:

Instead of throwing your shoes in a landfill, please donate your "gently worn" footwear to people in need instead of throwing them away. Green Club will be collecting shoes through 10/29 in room 132E. One pair of shoes = one entry in a raffle for a prize!!

Student Council has a new event this year—A Pumpkin Carving Contest!! Sign up in the main office or library to design and carve your Pumpkin after school on Tuesday 26th—then they will be on display the rest of the week with winners getting fun prizes and lots of recognition! So, meet us in the cafeteria on Tuesday 26th with your Pumpkin Carving ideas!

Halloween-o-grams!!! Send a bag of candy to friends, foes, or that special someone. Buy them for only a dollar from STUCO ambassadors, officers, or in the cafeteria during A or B lunch! They will be delivered Oct. 28 during 4th period. Get into the Halloween Spirit! Buy Halloween-o-grams!!!

Hey all you Ghouls and Goblins out there!! Student Council is sponsoring a Costume Contest next Friday 29th. The categories are: Best Traditional Halloween, Best Pair, Best Group, Most Creative, Scariest, and Best “Thinking out of the Box” costume. Make sure you don’t break any Code of Conduct rules and come to the cafeteria on Friday 29th to get your picture taken by our judges!

Don’t miss the action on FSN Rocky Mountain this Saturday at 9:30 p.m. when your football team squares off on the gridiron with the Valor Christian Eagles. The game will be shown on Comcast channel 26, DIRECTV channel 683 and DISH channel 414! You’ll find the best high school football coverage, on FSN Rocky Mountain Saturday night at 9:30.

Heritage/Littleton Women's Lacrosse will be having a parent and player information meeting. Anyone interested in playing is invited to attend. Monday, October 25 from 6:30-8:15 at Heritage High School, Second Floor Lecture Hall.

Are a frustrated gymnast? frustrated Cheerleader? or a freshman? JOIN GIRL’S DIVING! Stop by pre-season practice for more information held Monday through Thursday at 4:00pm in the pool.

Academic Announcements:

All applications are due Monday October 25 by 3:00pm to Ms. Geyer for any junior or senior interested in attending College part-time next semester. Stop by the counseling office with questions.

JUNIORS & SOPHOMORES: DO not wait, register now for the practice ACT test, better known as the PLAN. Test date at LHS is Sat., Nov. 6, 7:30 am. Cost is $20, check made out to LHS or cash. You can register in the Counseling Office. Space is limited!!

Seniors and College Application Deadlines: Please check the LHS website or stop by the Counseling Office for further information regarding important college application deadlines. It is important to note your requests in Naviance and transcript payments need to be made 10 BUSINESS DAYS prior to the college’s deadline.

Special Events:

Novemberfest is right around the corner! Plan on participating in all of the festivities on Saturday, November 13 at Littleton High School. Dinner will be catered by Dickey’s Barbecue from 5:30-8:00 in the cafeteria. Tickets are now available in the Athletic office for $10 per person. You can also purchase dinner tickets at the next three home football games; plan to purchase yours this Saturday, 2:00 pm at the game against Valor Pre-purchasing dinner tickets is highly recommended as a VERY limited number will be available at the door. The Novemberfest silent auction will begin at 5:30 and run until 9:00. This is a great opportunity to support Lions Athletics AND find great items to purchase in time for the holidays! Invite your friends and neighbors, too! Go Lions!

The men’s soccer teams had a successful day in their final games of the season on Tuesday. The JV team defeated Rock Canyon 4 - 0, while the varsity won their game 2 - 1. Congratulations on finishing off the season in style.

Too many gay and lesbian youth have ended their lives in suicide in recent weeks. Let’s have a chat today after school about this terrible trend. Meet with GSA now in the art room and help create a culture of acceptance at LHS.

The Peace Jam Club will meet today in room 206 between 2:20 and 2:45. International Education Week Planning will be the focus of the October and November's meetings. All students and staff interested in helping to put on this event are welcome. Additionally, information on the Kenya Service and Study Trip will be available. We hope to see you there!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

A loud tennis applause to the 1-doubles team of Ben Williamson and Will Stults. At the state tournament, they earned 2 points by beating teams from Grand Junction and George Washington, before losing an excruciatingly close match to Cherry Creek. Well done, gentlemen!

Congratulations to the Sophomore and the Varsity Volleyball Teams who defeated Douglas County High School on Thursday. The varsity won a hard fought battle as they earned their victory with an exciting 5 set match! Laura Whalen and Natasha Habert each contributed 18 and 11 kills respectively, while setter, Annika Hacker contributed 34 assists. Marilyn Drennan earned 5 blocks on the night while Sydney Kramcha tallied 7 kills. Come see the Lady Lions in action on Tuesday as they host their final home match against the visiting Regis Raiders. Then on Thursday, the Lions travel to Heritage for the final regular season match! Good luck this week Lions!
