Club Announcements:

The speech and debate team WILL meet VERY BRIEFLY after school TODAY in 151!!! Rush down to 151 so we can handle team business and still get to the East Tournament on time.

Girls basketball tryouts begin this afternoon from 3:00-4:30 in the North gym and continue tomorrow from 11:00-2:00. Basketball season is here!

Attention all students interested in unified basketball.....there will be a player/parent meeting on Nov. 15th at 7:00pm in the north gym. This is also the first night of practice. If you have questions please contact Mrs. Stukey or Mrs. Encinias.

SWIM TEST: Signups for the swim test at LHS are available in the Counseling Office. The test is Tues., Nov. 16 or Wed., Nov. 17, 2:30 pm sharp in the LHS pool. Registration is open to all LPS students in all grades and is limited to 30 students per session. Stop by the Counseling Office for details.

WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO BE THIS WEEKEND?? HERE AT LHS watching the Senior class tease their teachers, or watching the freshmen skit show the trials and tribulations of being a freshmen! How about seeing the AMAZING drum line perform LOUD! Well then, come out to the 28th Annual Student Council Lions Follies tonight at 7pm and tomorrow night a 5pm! We have got an amazing show for you. AND, if you buy a ticket to the Friday night show you are automatically entered into a drawing for an iPod Nano! Or if you go to the Saturday night show, you can check out all the cool stuff at the Silent Auctions run by our Booster club! Either way—it will be a FUN NIGHT OF FOLLIES! Tickets on sale today at lunch, after school and at the door before the show.

Have you ever driven a Zamboni at an ice rink? Would you like to learn how? Well, you have the opportunity to bid on this unique opportunity (and a whole bunch of other cool things too!) at Novemberfest. We are in the final countdown to the LHS silent auction, this Saturday, November 13 from 5:30-9:00. Have dinner at school, bid a little, watch Lions Follies, come eat dessert at the yummy dessert bar, and then place your final bids. Dinner tickets are still available in the Athletic Office- Dickey’s BBQ will be catering the event; tickets are $10. A very limited number will be available for $15/ticket on Saturday, so buy them ASAP! The proceeds of Novemberfest all go to a great cause, so come support Lions Boosters!!!

International Education Week is coming to LHS next week (November 15-19). Check with your teacher for the schedule of events, in the front lobby, and on the bulletin board outside the library. You can attend the events during your off hours or with your classes. Monday after school there will be a soccer tournament for students who form teams and sign up. See Mr. Puchino for details.

LHS will host LHS' first International Week Study Abroad Fair on November 18th from 6pm - 8 pm in the cafeteria. International study and service organizations will share information and promotional material about their programs — People to People, Bold Leaders and ASSE (International Student Exchange Programs). LHS faculty and students will share their international study, service, work and travel experiences! We hope to see you there!

The Littleton High School Choir and Marching band will be marching in the Boston St. Patrick's Day Parade during spring break. Please come & support the performing arts students this Saturday at Applebee's for a pancake breakfast. The cost is $7 and will be served from 7:30- 9:30am. You can purchase tickets from any band member or at the door.

There is a football banquet coming for the players, families and coaching staff of LHS Football:
• Monday, Nov. 15th
• 5 pm
• LHS Cafeteria
• Players; wear your purple polo shirts
• Freshmen parents: bring Main dish--at least enough for 12 people
• Sophomore parents: also bring Main dish--at least enough for 12 people
• Junior parents: bring side dish, enough for 12

Greeting Philosophers. Come join us today after school in room 204. We’ll be discussing just what it is that make something ART. Bring your ideas and even an example of something people call art that you believe really is or really isn’t. See you there.

FBLA members we will have a meeting today at 2:20 pm in room 124. We will be discussing our upcoming Stock Market challenge, holiday events and getting information about District competition. This is a very important meeting. Please plan on attending.

This event will take place on November 18th from 6pm - 8 pm in the cafeteria. Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to Vidya Ravilochan who was selected to the National American Choral Directors Association Women’s Honor Choir. Only 100 high school and college women were selected for the choir which will rehearse and perform in Chicago in mid-March as part of the National ACDA Convention.

Congratulations to Ashlyn Mooney, Vidya Ravilochan, Tessa Healy, Jamie Wollum and Carrie Martin for being selected to the 2011 Colorado All State Jazz Choirs. There are only 32 students selected and LHS had the highest number of students selected, tied with one other school. LHS is the only school that has been represented at all 12 Colorado All State Jazz Choirs.

Congratulations to Senior, Laura Whalen who will sign her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, November 10th to play volleyball at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Laura will commit to be the Libero for the Bobcats for the next four years. Congratulations Laura!

Sports Announcements:

Girl’s basketball pre-season camp begins TODAY at 3:00-5:00 in the North gym and will continue through Thursday. All girls who plan to tryout for basketball are strongly encouraged to attend. Tryouts begin Friday from 3:00-4:30!

If anyone is interested in being a boy's basketball manager or statistician, please come at 4pm TODAY to the south gym for more information. Boys’ Basketball Players: your physicals are due to the athletic office before this Friday.
