Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the following volleyball players who were selected to the Continental League All-Conference this fall season: Freshman, Tasha Habert – Honorable Mention, Sophomore, Annika Hacker – 2nd Team Setter, and Senior Laura Whalen – 1st Team Outside Hitter. Laura has also been selected to play in the All State Games this week-end! Congratulations ladies!

MUSICAL AUDITIONS will be held MONDAY 29 November--the day after Thanksgiving Break. Information is on the theatre callboard--we're doing "Little Shop Of Horrors" this year---come and sing and don't feed the plants!

Friday, November 19th: Welcome to the final day of International Education Week and a focus on International Music and Dance. Today’s events include:
-1st Block (Forum): Ms. Hall's International Business Class Presentations
-2nd Block (Forum): Ms. Hall's International Business Class Presentations
-3rd Block (Forum:11:07-12:35): Film- The 39 Steps
-4th Block (Theater): World Music Concert - Pan African Ensemble (master drummers and dancers from Guinea, Mali, Ghana and Togo)

IB Senior Theatre Company will present their independent projects Forfeit The Shape on Friday 3 December at 7pm and Saturday 4 December at 5 pm. All Tickets are $5, Staff are free. The comedy filled evening includes two short one acts and original work inspired by the NeoFuturists.

Cast a vote at Denver’s Fox 31 to help Manwich become the top “Glee Club” choir in their first ever Fox 31 Glee Club competition. Manwich performed this past Tuesday morning and three other local high school choirs will perform this week as well. FBLA members: don’t forget to turn in permission slips for Stock Market Challenge to Mrs. Martin’s office before Friday. The bus for the challenge will leave from the cafeteria entrance at 10:30 am on Friday, November 19, 2010. Don’t be late or you will be left!

As part of our International Education Week celebration, history teacher James Gordon, will host LHS' first International Week Study Abroad Fair. This event will take place on November 18th from 6pm - 8 pm in the cafeteria. You will have the opportunity to visit with a host of international study and service organizations that will share information and promotional material about their programs. People to People, Bold Leaders, and ASSE (International Student Exchange Programs), to name a few. In addition, LHS faculty such as History teacher James Gordon and Spanish teacher Matt Marshall and students who have ventured abroad to Kenya and Costa Rica will share their international study, service, work and travel experiences.

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congrats to the LHS Speech and Debate team who finished 3rd out of 32 teams at Saturday's Creek/East meet. Noteworthy performances were turned in by Tres Pittman and Daniel Thomas, who took 2nd in Policy Debate, Ben Fisk and Melissa Timmermeyer, 4th in Improv Pairs, and Reine Ibala, who advanced in LD Debate.

The Peace Jam Club will meet today in room 206 between 2:20 and 2:45. Information on the Kenya Service and Study Trip will be available. We hope to see you there!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR LIONS FOLLIES VARIETY SHOW WINNERS! In the Instrumental music category, we had a tie for first between A Million Dollars Just Doesn’t go Very Far and the Drum Line!! In the Creative Act category the winner was the Hip Hop Club Dance! And in the skit category we had another tie between the Junior class skit and the Sophomore class skit!! Way to go everyone, it was a wonderful show!!
