Student Recognition & Congratulations:

A big congratulations goes out to members of our Choir Department who were selected to sing in the Southwest American Choral Directors Association honor choirs in Dallas, Texas, this March. They are:

Congratulations to the FBLA members who participated in the Stock Market Challenge at the DU Cable Center last Friday. We had 6 teams competing and 4 of the teams finished in the top 10 teams. Littleton High School took 2nd and 3rd place honors this year earning trophies and gift cards for the team members! Nice job FBLA!

Costume contest results are in! The winner for funniest costume goes to junior, Jared Giammanco as the "Worlds #1 Dad", most creative costume goes to freshman Kim Stanish as a "Flamingo" and the winner for best over all goes to sophomore, Genoa Martin, as Edward Scissorhands. Winners, please pick up your prizes in the main office.

Reminder for 2nd Semester Schedule Adjustment: November 28-Dec 2nd: SENIORS; Dec. 5th: JUNIORS; Dec. 6th: SOPHOMORES; Dec. 7th: FRESHMAN

Attention Seniors: Colorado Mountain College will visit Tuesday at 10:00 in the Post Grad Center. University of Wyoming and Miami University will visit on Thursday. Be sure to sign up to attend these meetings on your Naviance homepage.

Special Events:

Hey Lion’s - Lion’s Follies will be this Friday and Saturday night at 7:00pm. Tickets are $5.00 and available at Lunches in the CafĂ© and after school at the box office. Your ticket stub is worth free chips and salsa at Chipotle or a discount at Yogo Mojo. Saturday’s show will have a drawing for an iPod nano. The PTO Dessert Bar will open at 5:30pm both nights in the LHS lobby and will sell baked goods through intermission. All Dessert Bar proceeds go to support After Prom expenses. Listen here all this week for the top five reasons you should attend the 2011 Lion’s Follies. Reason #5: Studies show the lion’s follies audience is 10 times more attractive than the average Littleton Lion. Hope to see you there!

Club Announcements:

All are welcome to join Balance and Frisbee clubs today for yoga in the theater lobby. We will practice from 2:30-3:00 for stress relief and fun!

ATTENTION ALL STUDENT COUNCIL members, we have a General Council meeting today at 2:20 in the forum. See you there!!

Lion's Follies Acts: Please check the line up sheet posted on the theater board. Act 1 has rehearsal today after school 3 -5. Act 2 has rehearsal tomorrow after school. Thursday is the full dress rehearsal 6 -9 pm.

Rock 'n Roll club meets this Thursday at 2:20 in room 112. This week we will take on the music of Led Zeppelin! Come on and get your heavy metal groove on.

FBLA Members -- we have a meeting this Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 2:20 pm in room 124. We will be discussing competitive events for our upcoming district competition.

Sports Announcements:

International Week Soccer! The annual co ed 4v4 soccer tournament is on Monday November 14 in the stadium. If you want to register a team, you must have at least 2 boys and 2 girls in a squad on no more than 6 players. Sign up and collect the information from Coach Banfield today after school in his office in the North Gym.

Girls basketball preseason camp begins today from 3:00-5:00 in the north gym. All girls who plan to try out are strongly encouraged to attend. This is your chance to sharpen your skills and get in shape for this Friday’s tryouts.

Hey Students, have you ever wanted to attend a Colorado Avalanche game with all your friends and family? Well now is your chance. Join your fellow classmates and teachers from Littleton High School on Sunday, November 20th for Littleton Public Schools Community Night as the Colorado Avalanche take on the San Jose Sharks! You may even be picked to ride on the Zambonie! For every ticket we sell, our PTO gets $2! That can add up to be a lot of money for our school. Look for more information on the LHS web site.

Airman First Class Brady Hansen is the son of one of our secretaries, Mary Mortenson and a LHS graduate of 2002. Brady is currently serving in the Air Force and is stationed at Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan. Brady’s specialty is aircraft hydraulics and works on the KC-135 strat-o-tanker, an in-flight refueling aircraft. He has also served in Diego Garcia in the India Ocean, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Iraq. In honor of Veteran’s Day, Brady will lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance today.
