Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - Happy Halloween!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Congratulations to the winners of the Pumpkin Carving contest!  1st place:  Sophie Engemann and 2nd place:  Kaitlyn Vick!  You can see their winning pumpkins and all the other entries on display in the front lobby! 

Academic Announcements:

Lockheed Martin Tutoring will NOT be held today!  They will return tomorrow evening.

Club Announcements:

DECA students, you have a meeting today after school in room 124 at 2:20 PM.  Come to pick up your T-shirts, and to hear the latest news about the state Conference.

If you wore a costume today, head to the cafeteria during an off period and get your picture taken by a Student Council member, and you will be automatically entered into the Contest.  Prizes will be awarded and we will announce winners tomorrow.

FCCLA will be meeting tomorrow in room 120, right after school.

FBLA members...Stock Market Challenge is this Friday, November 2, 2012.  Please make sure you have turned in your permission slip to Mrs. Martin or Mr. Decker and we will meet at the athletic entrance at 10:30 am Friday morning.  Bring a little money for ice cream on the way home!  See you then!

INK Club- Writers and Artists- please submit any artwork, photography or writing to Ms. Fletcher in Room 113. Ink Club is not being well-attended so Ms. Fletcher is going to try to collect some work and see if there will be enough to publish our INK magazine! Also, if you're interested please see Ms. Fletcher or email her and we can figure out a better time to meet since Thursdays are not working out!

Sport Announcements:

There is a very important wrestling meeting today in room 133W at 2:15 for anyone interested in wrestling this year.  Open mat wrestling will be going on tomorrow in the north gym on the new wrestling mat for anyone interested in checking it out.  Everyone interested is welcome.

Attention All Volleyball Players! Please see Coach Whalen after school today to turn in volleyball uniforms and equipment.  Thank you!

Girls Tennis- Meeting in Ms. Fletcher's room, 113 after school tomorrow. Let's get ready for the season Lady Lions!!! Be there at 2:15, sharp!. If you can't make it please email Ms. Fletcher and she will send you a summary after the meeting!

Attention all girls going out for LHS swimming and diving - There will be an extremely important meeting tomorrow at 2:20 p.m. in the pool area.  Practice groups to begin the season will be announced.  Team suits will be available to try on after the meeting.  The meeting should end by approximately 3:15 p.m.  See you this Thursday!

Anyone interested in playing boys lacrosse for winterball and spring season, here will be a player/parent informational meeting: Wednesday, November 7th starting at 6:30 in the LHS Forum.

Special Events:

Zombies Zombies Zombies…Today from 3.15-5.30 the Thespians will host their annual haunted house in the LHS Theatre. It's only two bucks to see if you can make it through a zombie filled theatre unscathed. (WARNING we are using strobe lights, a fog machine, doors will slam, survivors may not survive and blood will be everywhere!) Come experience a zombie filled theatre before you head home this Halloween!~~ --Thespian Troupe #83.

Students, the DECA store is now open for both lunch periods with all of your favorite items from last year!  Come by and see us today!

Blog Announcements:

LHS will hold the swim test for all LPS students Nov. 7 or 8 at 2:30 pm sharp in the LHS pool.  Registration is limited to 30 students each day, and students can sign up in the counseling office.  A criteria sheet is available on the LHS website or when you sign up.  In addition, Arapahoe High School is also offering the swim test on the same dates, but at 6:00 am in their pool.  Please contact Mrs. Leyden at AHS for registration information. 

For ALL of those that auditioned for Lions Follies set lists are posted in the library, main office, and the choir hall bulletin board.  Rehearsals start Mon, November 5th.
