Academic Announcements:


Ms. Anthamatten's fifth period advisement group - Please remember that we are meeting fifth hour in the forum TODAY for an International Week Presentation instead of at our usual time on Thursday.  Please be in the forum at 11:08am today.  Thank you.

Musical Auditions are coming up! This year the auditions for Legally Blonde will be Monday, December 3rd. If you wish to audition please attend an informational meeting this Wednesday, November 14th after school in the theatre. If you cannot make the meeting all the information will be on the callboard outside of 146. Thanks.

Sport Announcements:

Anyone interested in being a part of Unified Lions Basketball there will be a parent/player/coach meeting tonight  at 7pm in the Library. Important paperwork, schedules and spirit wear will be discussed. See Heather Stukey, Deana Encinias or Nate White with any questions in 106C. Come be a part - we need you!

•    5th Period: Argentina Semester Abroad Presentation by LHS Senior Sam Martens
•    7th Period: Guest speaker Ms. Maria Alexandra Wreschner will present on her experience working with AIDS Patients in South Africa

Have you ever dreamed of traveling and studying abroad? This Wednesday, November 14th at 6:00pm in the Cafeteria there will be a Study Abroad Program fair with representatives from a variety of programs that offer international study, service, and travel opportunities for high school students.

The 2nd annual LPS Poetry Slam will be held tomorrow night at 7:00pm at the Ames Facility.  Last year LHS students took first and second place at this event, and we hope to do well again.  Come by and hear some amazing and inspiring student poetry. If you're interested in performing your own poetry at the slam, we would love to have you.  See Mr. Saliman for more details, or check the poster in your Language Arts classroom.

Veteran’s Day Observance:

In Honor of Veteran’s Day we would like to recognize our LHS staff members who have served in the Armed Forces.  When you see them today, take a moment to thank them for their service.

Leading us today in the Pledge of Allegiance is Airman First Class, Brianna Krayenhagen, who is the daughter of Mrs. McCombs.  Bri just completed her Air Force basic training and technical school in Security Forces at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. She will be leaving Wednesday for her duty station at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Please rise and remove your hats for the Pledge of Allegiance.
