Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Congratulations to the following members of the speech and debate team for their outstanding performance last weekend at Golden High School.
-   Hannah Poe and Nick Ditter finished third overall in public forum debate.
-   Anna Pirkey & Kelly Dinneen earned second place in cross examination debate.
-   Lillie Pollard finished in the top 4 for humor
Littleton nearly swept the oratory event:
-   Scarlett del Guidice was a top 5 finalist
-   Megan Sanders earned the silver.
-   Brett Maney earned her gold medal for first place overall finish.
We are excited to see what the rest of this season has to bring!

Academic Announcements:

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.  Please use the forum entrance.

Club Announcements:

Ever had the chance to buy someone a live chicken?  How about a live goat?  Well, here's your chance!  Student Council is selling “Pay it Forward” coupons for the Musana Orphanage we sponsor in Uganda.  These are coupons where you can buy different products for the orphanage and the money you give goes directly to that part of the Musana budget.  Chickens are only $2 a piece, goats are $10 and many, many more animals and other goods will be for sale on Thursday and Friday during International Week in the front lobby of the school. So, bring some extra cash and help out the wonderful children at the Musana Orphanage!

Attention All Wrestlers:  Please turn in your money for wrestling apparel to Coach Burton or Coach Swanson before the end of today.

International Education Week Events in the Forum

•    2nd Period: Guest speaker Ms. Mikel Uziyahu, will present on issues facing Israel and Palestine.
•    4th Period: Kenya Service and Study Trip Film by LHS Students Emily Cassio, Delaney Ellfeldt, Corie Fraker, Forest Glebe, Lauren Smith, Claire Straus, and  LHS Social Studies Teacher Mr. Gordon
•    6th Period: International Sports Film Olympic Athlete and U.S. National Ski Team member Lindsey Vonn
•    8th  Period: Costa Rica Trip Presentation by Mr. Marshall

Events in the Theater

•    4th Period: International Travel Presentation: "Around the World with Ms. Prestel

Tomorrow evening at 6:00pm in the Cafeteria there will be a Study Abroad Program fair with representatives from a variety of programs that offer international study, service, and travel opportunities for high school students. Come see where in world you might go!

The 2nd annual LPS Poetry Slam will be held tonight at 7:00pm at the Ames Facility.  Come by and hear some amazing and inspiring student poetry. If you're interested in performing your own poetry at the slam, see Mr. Saliman for more details, or check the poster in your Language Arts classroom.

Other Announcements:

The Troubadours and Syrens choirs are currently holding a fundraiser, the color Mr. Farrell's mustache contest, to help offset the costs of their performance outfits.  There are 4 containers with specific colors that will be used to dye Mr. Farrell's mustache prior to the Winter Concert in December.  Students and staff can make a donation into the color container of their choice.  The color container with the most money will be the color that wins and the color that Mr. Farrell will wear for the Choir Winter Concert on December 11th!  

Blog Announcements:

ENCORE! Parent Meeting TIME CHANGE:  Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7:00pm (changed from 6:30pm) - in the Choir Room. This will allow for those parents needing to attend the winter sports meeting at 6:00pm to attend the ENCORE! Meeting at 7:00pm – See you there!

Musical Auditions are coming up! This year the auditions for Legally Blonde will be Monday, December 3rd. If you wish to audition please attend an informational meeting tomorrow after school in the theatre. If you cannot make the meeting all the information will be on the callboard outside of 146. Thanks.

Enjoy great food and a fun atmosphere at Merle's on Tuesday, November 13th and Merle's will donate a portion back to LHS for after prom.  Let them know that you are an LHS family.  Make your dinner plans easy tonight if you are planning on attending the all parent winter sports meeting.  Thank you!

Students and staff:  The Thanksgiving holiday is rapidly approaching, and Littleton High School would like to ensure that every student and their family has a holiday meal.  If you are able to make a donation or know of someone who could benefit from receiving a holiday food baskets contact Mr. Hahn in the Counseling Department.
