Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Congratulations to Jake Bergman and Rachel Ericson who signed their letters of intent yesterday.  Jake will be attending CSU Pueblo to play football and Rachel will be attending Luther College to play soccer.  Way to go LIONS!!

Congratulations to the girls varsity basketball team for their victory over Douglas County on Tuesday night, 47-40.  Senior Stephanie Puchino and Sophomore Laura Puchino each scored 14 points while sophomore Kiera Lindgren added 8 points and 7 rebounds in a big conference win.  Make sure to come out and support our Lions this Friday night at home vs. Castle View as we hit the final stretch of the season and into the playoffs.  Go Lions!!

The Unified Basketball team kept their unbeaten streak alive with a commanding win over Mountain Vista, 80 to 50.  Next game is Monday night at home at 7pm.  It is senior night so come cheer us to victory.

Good Luck to the Lady Lionfish!!!  Tomorrow eight of our Lady Lionfish will compete at the 5A Girls State Swimming & Diving Championship in Fort Collins.  We want to wish good luck to Claire Tronrud, Claire Martin, Maddy Montgomery, Megan Sanders, Morgan Zueger, and Hailey Egelhoff, Abby VanKooten, and Cookie Jeter.  When you see these ladies in their tuxedos today -wish them luck!  Go LIONS!!

Academic Announcements:

Juniors and seniors interested in learning all about the University of Wyoming are encouraged to meet with the school's admission representative who will be here today at 12:30 in the Counseling office.  The U of Wyoming has become an affordable option for Colorado students, so come find out about the school's prices and programs.

IB-track SOPHOMORES: Remember to attend the MANDATORY meeting about your IB DECISION today during A and B lunches in the Forum. Whether you're staying in IB next year, are taking a different academic path, or are unsure, this meeting is for you. Bring your lunch and be prompt. Questions: Ms. Anderson or Mrs. Stulock in the counseling suite.

Attention all Speech and Debate Team members!  Don't forget that tomorrow we will be taking yearbook pictures. Meet at 2:15 in Ms. Rosen's room and we will walk down together for the picture. Also, please remember to wear your debate shirt to school!

All boys interested in playing Spring lacrosse need to attend a very important player and parent meeting on Tuesday, February 12th in the LHS Forum at 7PM.  Find out about tryouts which begin on 2/25 and what paperwork needs to be completed to become an LHS LAX Lion player!

Attention all runners, jumpers, and throwers, there is an important track pre-season meeting on Wednesday Feb. 13th at 2:30 in room 133E. Please see Coach Brooks or Coach Koepke with questions.

LHS SENIORS!!! Life 101 is now in its 5th year, and will be offered again this spring! Applications will be available from Mrs. Mashak in the front office and are due back to Mrs. Mashak by tomorrow. ONLY 50 SPOTS ARE AVAILABLE, SO GET YOUR APPLICATION TURNED IN ASAP! All the information you need is attached to the application, including seminar dates and topics. This is a powerful opportunity and a great way to end your experience at LHS!

Blog Announcements:

Legally Blonde the Musical opens at the end of this month on the LHS Mane Stage. Tickets are available at the box office during A and B lunches,6th period and after school. $7.00 for students and $10.00 for adults, the show opens Thursday February 28th at 7pm! Wear pink when you purchase your ticket and receive $1 off each ticket purchased!

AP-students who are enrolled in AP classes, Mrs. Zerr and Mrs. Gobble will be visiting your classrooms this week to review the process for registering and paying for your AP exams.  Actual payment and registration will begin on February 11th in the Counseling Office. 

Attention all students!!  Do you feel like you can’t talk to an adult in the building when you have something you need to get off your chest? Well, your fellow peer counselors will be leading group discussions every Monday after school from 2:15-3:30 in the counseling office!  Please see Mrs. Zerr in the counseling office if you have any questions.

Hello all LHS families! Mark your calendar now for a delicious way to support After-Prom! Plan on eating dinner at Merle’s restaurant on Tuesday, February, 26 and 10% will be donated to PTO After-Prom party. Don’t worry about cooking dinner for the evening, and help out a super fun cause! Just let your server at Merle’s know you are from LHS…. it’s that easy!!!

The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) are seeking 40 applicants for their 2013 Youth Academy.  The CSP Youth Academy will be held in Golden, CO from June 9-15.  Application deadline is March 8th.  Please come to the Main Office for more information.
