Academic Announcements:


IB-track SOPHOMORES: There is a MANDATORY meeting about the IB DECISION Thursday, February 7, during A and B lunches in the Forum. Whether you're staying in IB next year, are taking a different academic path, or are unsure, this meeting is for you. Bring your lunch and be prompt. Questions: Ms. Anderson or Mrs. Stulock in the counseling suite.

AP-students who are enrolled in AP classes, Mrs. Zerr and Mrs. Gobble will be visiting your classrooms this week to review the process for registering and paying for your AP exams.  Actual payment and registration will begin on February 11th in the Counseling Office. 

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.  Please use the forum entrance.

Club Announcements:

Do you want to send a friend, secret someone or your significant other a Valentine's treat?  If so, purchase a Val-O-Gram from a Student Council member and you can send them a wonderful message plus some chocolate for only $1!!  All proceeds go to helping our 2013 PROM be the best!

Cupid's sting is that much greater when it's a PAPER cut. Buy a Cupid's Classified to tell your love how you feel. On sale at lunch outside the cafe.

Chocolate Roses are on sale now for $1.  See a FCCLA member to purchase.

The Peace Jam Club will meet in room 140 today at 2:25 for the club yearbook photo and will hold our weekly meeting after the photo.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes would like to invite you to our club. We meet on Thursdays at 2:30 in room 102.  There are snacks and we are starting to read the book Crazy Love by Francis Chan.  If you have any questions, please speak to Mr. Wentz or Student Kaitlin Vick.  Hope to see you there

We have a mandatory TSA meeting Thursday, 2:20 pm in the tech lab.  If you are going to state you MUST attend this meeting. We will also be taking our group photo.

FBLA members we have a meeting on Thursday at 2:20 pm in room 124.  We are two weeks out from our district conference and FBLA week is next week!  Please plan on joining us for some quick updates.  See you then!

HIP HOP will meet in the Lobby on Thursday for Yearbook pictures promptly at 2:30.  After pictures, we will then go to the Forum for our regular meeting.

Special Events:

Legally Blonde the Musical opens at the end of this month on the LHS Mane Stage. Tickets are available at the box office during A and B lunches,6th period and after school. $7.00 for students and $10.00 for adults, the show opens Thursday February 28th at 7pm! Wear pink when you purchase your ticket and receive $1 off each ticket purchased!

LHS SENIORS!!! Life 101 is now in its 5th year, and will be offered again this spring! Applications will be available from Mrs. Mashak in the front office starting Monday, February 4th, and are due back to Mrs. Mashak no later than Friday, February 8th. ONLY 50 SPOTS ARE AVAILABLE, SO GET YOUR APPLICATION TURNED IN ASAP! All the information you need is attached to the application, including seminar dates and topics. This is a powerful opportunity and a great way to end your experience at LHS!

In a contest too close to be decided, the Counseling Department would like you guys, our very own students and staff, to cast their vote for the winner of the Lion’s Cupboard design contest.  The Lion’s Cupboard is our very own clothes closet.  The winning design as chosen by you guys will be the slogan for the Lion’s Cupboard, which will be on the entrance to the Lion’s Cupboard, the Counseling bulletin board, as well as the school website.  Please come to the Counseling office through the end of this week to check out these two amazing art projects and cast your ballot.

Attention all students!!  Do you feel like you can’t talk to an adult in the building when you have something you need to get off your chest? Well, your fellow peer counselors will be leading group discussions every Monday after school from 2:15-3:30 in the counseling office!  Please see Mrs. Zerr in the counseling office if you have any questions.

Hello all LHS families! Mark your calendar now for a delicious way to support After-Prom! Plan on eating dinner at Merle’s restaurant on Tuesday, February, 26 and 10% will be donated to PTO After-Prom party. Don’t worry about cooking dinner for the evening, and help out a super fun cause! Just let your server at Merle’s know you are from LHS…. it’s that easy!!!

Thank you Lions Sport Booster Club Parents and Coaches for the wonderful support we recieved at the 2nd annual LSBC FebruaryFest event!  It was a great time celebrating and recognizing all that is being done for our LHS athletes.  Thank you for attending, donating and for the continuous support on behalf of the Lions Sport Booster Club!!

Attention Students – do you need a computer? If you do not have a computer, we have free computers for you. These are refurbished desktop computers, not laptops. They use the XP operating system and are loaded with Open Office; please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office.

The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) are seeking 40 applicants for their 2013 Youth Academy.  The CSP Youth Academy will be held in Golden, CO from June 9-15.  Application deadline is March 8th.  Please come to the Main Office for more information.
