Student Recognition & Congratulations:

 
The varsity boy’s soccer team won again last night, continuing their undefeated streak.  They outplayed the Gateway Olympians in overtime to win 3-2 with a stunning goal from Sam Korff. Goals also came from Will Paton and Joe Director.  Come out and watch the Lions play against Smoky Hill on Friday at 3:45 in the stadium!  Way to go LIONS!

The JV soccer team had an exciting come from behind victory yesterday. They beat Gateway 2 to 1 with Donaciano Quintero scoring both Lion goals.  Way to go LIONS!!

CONGRATULATIONS to the new Class of 2017 Student Council officers:  President Andy Bredar, Vice President Grace Boorom and Public Relations Officer Grant Bowman.  Nice job to all the candidates; your speeches were well thought out and very well written!  Just a reminder to anyone who still wants to be in Student Council, our next General Council meeting is on Monday Sept. 16th.  Way to go LIONS!

Club Announcements:

All students who would like to join DECA this year, please stop by room 125 immediately after school to pick up an informational packet and ask DECA members any questions you may have.  If you cannot attend, please see Mr. Decker in class on Friday.

FCCLA will be meeting today, after school in room 120.  We will be discussing the Ultimate Leadership Day with the Denver Nuggets.  Join us to hear about this exciting opportunity.

Anyone interested in !nk Club- please come to a quick informational meeting today, right after school in room 110.

FBLA will be meeting today in room 124.  All are welcome and if you have a membership packet ready to turn in be sure to bring it with you!  See you then!
  

Sport Announcements:

Pre-season weight training for all levels of boys basketball meets today at 2:30 pm in the weight room.  Open gym time for all levels continues tonight, from 6 - 7:30 pm in south gym. 

Special Events:

The Choir Department is holding a Garage Sale and Car Wash fundraiser this Saturday, Sep 7, 8am-12pm, in the Littleton HS front parking lot, to help with the cost of choir outfits for the Troubadours and Syrens. We hope to see you there!

Homecoming Dance Guest forms are available in Student Services as of today. They are due back September 19, 2013. The Homecoming dance will be held Saturday, September 21st.

Other Announcements:

Students, if you are interested in serving on our School Accountability Committee, we will be choosing one student by lottery.  Please complete a nomination form for yourself in the main office by the end of the day on Monday, September 9th.  We will draw one name on Tuesday the 10th.  Meeting times are on that nomination form; generally we meet the third Wednesday of the month after school. Our next meeting is September 18th.

Just a reminder that if you haven't purchased a parking permit, now is the time to do so. Starting in about a week or two campus security will start issuing tickets if you don't have a permit.  The bookkeeper will be open Thursday and Friday after 12:30 and every day, all day, next week.

Prepaid PTO Directories that were not picked up at Back-to-School Night are available at the Administrative Office front desk.  Please bring your student ID to pick yours up for your family.  Also, there is a small quantity of Directories available for sale at $10 each.  Make checks payable to LHS PTO.  Thank you for your support!!

Attention Seniors and their parents.  The Boettcher Scholarship is one of the most prestigious and generous college scholarships that a student graduating from a Colorado High School can receive. Recipients of this award receive full tuition, fees, books and a living stipend for all four years of an undergraduate degree earned at any accredited college/university in the state of Colorado. LHS ENCORE! will host a meet & greet BBQ before the Collage Concert on Wednesday, September 11, at 5:00pm in the front parking lot. Everyone is welcome and proceeds benefit LHS Performing Arts. Advance tickets can be purchased from Mr. Farrell in the choir room for $6 each OR 4 tickets for $20.00. (Tickets are $7 each OR 4 for $25 at the event.) The menu includes: BBQ pulled pork or chicken sandwiches, salad, bottled water & dessert. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs and meet your LHS Encore! board members and other performing arts families. The FREE Collage Concert follows the BBQ, at 7pm, in the LHS Theatre.

Hey, Students, have you ever wanted to attend a Colorado Rapids game with all your friends and family?  Well now is your chance.  Join your fellow classmates and teachers from Littleton High School on Saturday, September 14th at 7 p.m. for Littleton Public Schools Community Night as the Colorado Rapids take on FC Dallas!  Tickets are $20 each ($35 regular price).  For every ticket purchased, our PTO gets $2 and the LPS Foundation gets $2.  That can add up to be a lot of money for our school!  Online tickets must be purchased by September 8.  Click on this link: Click here to purchase tickets or go to www.LPSFoundation.com, click on the link next to the Colorado Rapids logo, select "Littleton High School" from the drop down menu, and follow the simple directions through the Rapids' ticket site.  One lucky ticket purchaser will have a Colorado Rapids player visit his/her school.  The winner will be announced at halftime!  Thank you for your support!

SAVE THE DATE:  The Littleton Public Schools Foundation is having their 18th annual Stride 2013 on Sunday, October 27 at the Littleton Museum.  Register online at www.runthestride.com  or register in person at the Boulder Running Company, 8116 W. Bowles Avenue in Littleton OR at Run Colorado, 8505 E. Arapahoe Rd. in Centennial from Friday, September 27, through 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 23.  Join your fellow students in either a 5K or 10K race through the beautiful streets of Littleton.  We have been challenged to win the High School Competition for a third year in a row so we need to have as many participants as possible join the "Littleton High School" team.  If our school has the largest percentage of participants, we win $1,000 again.  GO LIONS!!!
