Student Recognition & Congratulations:
Congratulations to your "Lion Pride" Marching Band and Colorguard for their Outstanding Performances at the Colorado West Invitational this past Saturday in Grand Junction.  Your "Lion Pride" Band and Colorguard placed 2nd in their Division in the Field Show Competition and 1st in their Division in the Parade Competition with the second highest score of the day.  Go Band!!!

Congratulations to the Soccer  Boys C Team for their 6-2 win over Gateway Friday.  A great team effort led by Daniel Rivas with a hat trick and single goals by Ivan Magana, Ulises Mendez and Jack Sadler. Come support all three teams at home on Tuesday when the Lions take on Legend at 4 and 7.

Academic Announcements:

Attention Juniors and Seniors! Surprise!  College Night this year is WAY earlier than usual...in fact, it's this week, Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm here at school.  Both Juniors and Seniors ...and their parents...will be glad they didn't miss out on all of the information and insights that will help you through the college search and application process.  More information is available on the LHS website homepage.  Don't you dare miss out!

Juniors and Seniors! Admissions reps from over 50 colleges and universities will be visiting our school to meet with students this week.  the list is too long to read, but you can find a complete list on your Naviance account, as well as on the bulletin board across from the cafe.  These rep meetings are just about the best way to find out more about schools you may be interested in.  Stop by Post Grad to pick up a pass in order to attend.

LAST WEEK for Juniors to sign up for the PSAT (practice SAT) Sept. 23 - Oct. 11. The test is Wed., Oct. 16, 7:30 - 11:30 am in the LHS South Gym. Registrations are limited to the first 200 students, and students must pay the $20, non-refundable fee when they sign up in the Counseling Office.

Club Announcements:

Attention all Student Council officers, ambassadors and general council members, we have a General Council meeting today in the forum; 2:20-3:00.  Please be there to discus Halloween events and Leadership Conferences.  Thanks!

Sport Announcements:

Come support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the LHS Volleyball Team at the Dig Pink Match tomorrow night at home.  Find a volleyball player to get your pink bracelet and donate for a good cause. Come support and wear your pink tomorrow night at the volleyball games! See you there!

Heritage/Littleton Women’s lacrosse is having a Parent/Player Meeting on Tuesday October 8th @ 6:30 p.m. in the Forum @ LHS.  Please attend if you are interested in playing lacrosse this Spring.  Bring your US Lacrosse number with you.

Girls Basketball open gyms will run on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30 throughout the fall.  Anyone who is interested in trying out for basketball in November is welcome and encouraged to attend!  Hope to see you there!

Special Events:

Do you have a special talent? Or maybe you are an amazing singer?  How about a comedian-can you get people to laugh!?  If so, Student Council wants YOU to tryout for our annual Variety show here at LHS called Lions Follies.  The sheets will be located in the main office and on the music bulletin board in the drama hall.  Sign up yourself, your band, or your group to be in the best show in town!!  Sign-up will begin on Tuesday 8th and end on Wed. 16th.  Auditions begin the week of the 21st.  Come on out and show your stuff!!

Save the Date – Sunday, October 27th for the 18th Annual Stride . Join your fellow students in either a 5K or 10K race through the beautiful streets of Littleton.  We have been challenged to win the School Competition for the 3rd year in a row, so we need to have as many participants as
possible join the Littleton High School team. If our school has the largest percentage of participants, we win $1,000!  The PE department is giving extra credit for PE Students who sign up.  Please see Mr. Banfield or go online:  www.runthestride.com

Other Announcements:

Attention Seniors – Josten's is coming back on Thursday, October 10th for Graduation orders.  They will be in the senior hall from 10:00a.m to 1:00p.m.

Class t-shirts will be available to pick up next week starting on Tuesday in the cafeteria during the lunches.  So, if you did not get a chance to pick yours up before homecoming, come down to the cafeteria Tuesday through Friday next week and pick it up!  They are still $5 if you have not paid for one; and you can pay at the pick up table. 

You are invited to the next LHS PTO meeting this Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the LHS Administrative Conference Room, 199 E. Littleton Blvd.  We will be hearing Committee Chair and Liaison reports as well as reports from Teachers and Dr. Oaks.  Hope you will come and get involved in your student's school.  It's a great place to learn about what's happening at LHS.  GO LIONS!!
