Academic Announcements:

Attention Juniors and Seniors! Surprise!  College Night this year is WAY earlier than usual...in fact, it's TOMORROW night from 6-8 pm here at school.  Both Juniors and Seniors ...and their parents...will be glad they didn't miss out on all of the information and insights that will help you through the college search and application process.  More information is available on the LHS website homepage.  Don't you dare miss out!

Juniors and Seniors! Admissions reps from over 50 colleges and universities will be visiting our school to meet with students this week.  the list is too long to read, but you can find a complete list on your Naviance account, as well as on the bulletin board across from the cafe.  These rep meetings are just about the best way to find out more about schools you may be interested in.  Stop by Post Grad to pick up a pass in order to attend.

LAST WEEK for Juniors to sign up for the PSAT - Practice SAT. If you are planning to take this test to sign-up in the Counseling Office. Tthe cost is $20, cash or check made out to LHS.  The test is Wed., Oct. 16, beginning at 7:20 in the South Gym.  Registration is limited with the final deadline Fri., Oct. 11 if there is still space available. 

Club Announcements:

All returning Speech and Debate team members are reminded to sign up for November speech tournaments in the Speech Room BY FRIDAY!!

For all those interested in being a partner for Unified Basketball please come to a short informational meeting MONDAY OCT. 14 at 2:15 in room 105.

Sport Announcements:

Come out and wear pink at the Dig Pink volleyball match tonight in support of breast cancer awareness (Tuesday) against Mountain Vista. Freshman and sophomores play at 4:30, JV plays at 5:30, and varsity starts at 6:30.

Heritage/Littleton Women’s lacrosse is having a Parent/Player TONIGHT, October 8th @ 6:30 p.m. in the Forum @ LHS.  Please attend if you are interested in playing lacrosse this Spring.  Bring your US Lacrosse number with you.

The softball season has come to a close.  A great season....worthy of post season play.  The last game was fantastic....we had a grand slam AND a triple play in our win over Thunderidge!  As we are only graduating 2 seniors.....next year we will leave no doubt!  GREAT Season..it was a blast!  Thank you for supporting us!

Pre-season conditioning for boys basketball continues this week with open gym times on Tuesday and Thursday from 6- 7:30 pm together with weights M - Th at 2:30 pm.  Come on out and get ready for the season.

Girls Basketball open gyms will run on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30 throughout the fall. Anyone who is interested in trying out for basketball in November is welcome and encouraged to attend! Hope to see you there!

Other Announcements:

Attention Seniors – Josten's is coming back on Thursday, October 10th for Graduation orders.  They will be in the senior hall from 10:00a.m to 1:00p.m.

Students – do you need a computer? If you do not have a computer at home, we have free computers for you. These are refurbished desktop computers, not laptops. They use the XP operating system and are loaded with Open Office; please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office to receive a voucher for a free computer and/or more information.

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.  Please use the forum entrance.

Blog Announcements:

You are invited to the next LHS PTO meeting this Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the LHS Administrative Conference Room, 199 E. Littleton Blvd.  We will be hearing Committee Chair and Liaison reports as well as reports from Teachers and Dr. Oaks.  Hope you will come and get involved in your student's school.  It's a great place to learn about what's happening at LHS.  GO LIONS!!

Save the Date – Sunday, October 27th for the 18th Annual Stride . Join your fellow students in either a 5K or 10K race through the beautiful streets of Littleton.  We have been challenged to win the School Competition for the 3rd year in a row, so we need to have as many participants as possible join the Littleton High School team. If our school has the largest percentage of participants, we win $1,000!  The PE department is giving extra credit for PE Students who sign up.  Please see Mr. Banfield or go online:  www.runthestride.com
