Today is an ODD Period Day – Periods 1.3.5.7

Special Homecoming Events:

Homecoming tickets will go on sale TODAY in the hallway next to the concession stand by the gym. You can buy your ticket, then go over and buy your Class t-shirt!!  Tickets are $15 and that will get you a soda and treat from the DECA store during the dance.  Buy early and skip the long lines the night of the dance!

Homecoming week activities--Tuesday after noon head down to the grass soccer fields after school to see the girls of LHS play some powder puff football!  Then, don’t forget on Wednesday, the Parade will happen at 3pm.  You can catch a ride to Bemis library in order to participate in the parade or to be a spectator--the buses will be available in the front of the school at 2:30--they are FREE.  After the parade is over, there will also be buses available to bring you back to LHS.  AND ALSO on Wednesday is our Homecoming Bonfire!  It starts at 7pm and there will be desserts, a Human Bowling Ball inflatable and lots of lots of spirit!  We hope to see you at all the Homecoming events!!

Thursday is the best day to show your school spirit!  After school in the south gym it time for the HOMECOMING DODGE BALL TOURNEY! Each class can make up to 2 coed teams of 7 or more people to compete against the other classes AND a teacher team!  So, find your best players and sign up on the class bulletin boards in the Language arts hall and we'll see YOU on Thursday!

Homecoming Spirit Days - Salad Bowl Theme:

  • Tuesday - Ranch Dressing Day, wear your cowboy or farm attire!  
  • Wednesday - French Dressing Day - find a StuCo member for some French accessories and wear your berets!  
  • Thursday - House Dressing Day - wear your CLASS T-SHIRTS!
  • Friday - Caesar Salad Dressing Day, wear your best toga or laurel wreath!  

*Make sure all your attire is LHS Code of Conduct Dress Code appropriate and show your school spirit!

Guest Forms for Homecoming Dance are available in Student Services and Main Office.  They are due on Sept. 18, 2014.

Academic Announcements:

Attention Juniors and Seniors - the University of Arizona located in Tucson, will have one of their admissions representatives to meet with students here at school TODAY at 8:00.  Please come to Post Grad for this meeting.  Post Grad will write you a pass back to class following the meeting.

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.  Please use the forum entrance.

Seniors, Jostens will return on Tuesday, September 23rd from 10:30 to 1:00 in the Senior hall to take orders again for those who didn't make it.

Club Announcements: 

Key Clubbers, please bring soap, hand sanitizer, bleach and gently used sneakers, raincoats or boots to the foreign language office and put them in the box by Ms. Anthamatten's desk tomorrow if you can.  They will be sent to West Africa to help in communities hit by the Ebola virus.

Any student who picked up an ambassador form from Ms Prestel, you need to return it TODAY in order to be an ambassador this year.  And don’t forget Officers, Ambassadors and General Council members, there is a VERY important General Council meeting on Monday the 15th--we need to confirm ALL our Homecoming activities!

Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

Littleton Cross Country team ran FAST at Heritage's Liberty Bell Invitational. Colin Cannon, running 16:26 led the boys to a 14th-place finish. Addi Iken, running a very speedy 19:37, led the girls to take 17th-place.  Awesome running, Lions!

After beating Cherokee Trail on Saturday, the Heritage/Littleton Varsity Softball team has a home game TODAY at 4:30pm at Euclid Middle School.  Please come support your Softball Team!

Sports Announcements:

Open gyms for Girls basketball this evening from 6:30-8:30.  Anyone interested in trying out in November is welcome to attend.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Blog Announcements:

Hello parents!  Join the fun at Merle’s Restaurant on Wednesday, September 17th for parade viewing from the patio! Merle’s will donate a portion of the proceeds to our LHS PTO for all food and beverage orders during our Homecoming Parade. So… join your fellow LHS parents from 2:30- 5:00 for a “Roarin’” good time! See you there! GO LIONS!!!!

Attention Juniors and Seniors: If you are parking in the LHS lots please make sure you have purchased a parking pass and have posted your permit sticker in your car.  Permits can be purchased through the bookkeeper for $50.  Campus Security will be monitoring parking lots to ensure all cars have permits.  Cars without permits will be ticketed.  Sophomores are allowed to purchase parking permits in November.

Attention Seniors!  Applications for the highly competitive and prestigious Boettcher Scholarship are now available to any senior who wishes to apply. Scholarships recipients receive a four-year full ride scholarship to any college or university in Colorado.  Amazing!   You can find all the details at the Boettcher Scholarship Online Application website.  The deadline for your completed application package is October 1st. Stop by Post Grad for more information.

Attention Students and Parents - Mark your calendars for the upcoming "College Information Night" which will take place Wednesday, October 1st, 6:00-8:00 pm. We will have a short introductory presentation followed by three rotations of 25 minute breakout sessions on topics including:  Paying For College, College Entrance Exams, The Parent's Role, Building Your College List and Inside the Admissions Process.  All students and their parents are welcome.

Students – do you need a computer? If you do not have a computer at home, we have free computers for you. These are refurbished desktop computers, not laptops. They use the XP operating system and are loaded with Open Office; please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office to receive a voucher for a free computer and/or more information.
