Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the boys tennis team. Their 7-0 victory yesterday at Standley Lake propelled them to a 5-0 league record. Take a break from all the homecoming activities to watch the team compete in the Littleton Invitational, going on all day this Friday at our courts. See you there.

Congratulations to the Men's C Team Soccer for their 5-2 victory over Legend. The Lion's were led on offense by Edgar Lopez, Nasr Ali Abid and Alden Kramer each with one goal and Duke Hindman with two goals. Come support the team today at 4:30 after the Poweder Puff games when they take on Cherokee Trail.

Special Homecoming Events:

Students: do you have an Instagram?! do you want to be in the yearbook?! if so, hashtag"#lhspickme" with fun pictures you take during homecoming.

Homecoming tickets are on sale in the hallway next to the concession stand by the gym.  Tickets are $15.  You can buy your ticket, then go over and buy your Class t-shirt!!

TODAY after school head down to the grass soccer fields after school to see the girls of LHS play some powder puff football!

Wednesday is the Parade that will happen at 3pm.  You can catch a ride to Bemis library in order to participate in the parade or to be a spectator--the buses will be available in the front of the school at 2:30--they are FREE.  After the parade is over, there will also be buses available to bring you back to LHS.  AND ALSO on Wednesday is our Homecoming Bonfire!  It starts at 7pm and there will be desserts, a Human Bowling Ball inflatable and lots of lots of spirit!  We hope to see you at all the Homecoming events!!

Thursday is the best day to show your school spirit!  After school in the south gym it time for the HOMECOMING DODGE BALL TOURNEY!

Guest Forms for Homecoming Dance are available in Student Services and Main Office.  They are due Thursday, September 18th.

Club Announcements: 

INK!, the student art and literature magazine, will have a staff meeting TODAY at 2:20 in room 112. Bring your work.

Key Clubbers! Wear your island gear and come march with us in the Homecoming Parade tomorrow! We will meet at Bemis library at 2.45.  Please note the bus to Bemis leaves LHS at 2.30 p.m. That is EARLIER than I put in the information handed out at our last meeting.

Academic Announcements: 

We will not host Lockheed Martin Tutoring on Thursday this week due to the Homecoming Football game.  The regular schedule will return next week. This is a great opportunity to get extra help with math and science!

Juniors and seniors have an opportunity to meet with five college representatives this week:  On Wednesday at 1 p.m., a University of Denver admissions counselor will be in the Post Grad Center. On Thursday, representatives from Hope College, Creighton University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs will meet with students in the Counseling office.  Sign up on Naviance to attend, and come to the Post Grad Center for a pass from class.

Attention Seniors-  If you have not submitted your senior photo for the yearbook, Wednesday/TOMORROW is your LAST opportunity to get a FREE, PROFESSIONAL photo taken here at school.  Please go to the main entrance during your off hour or after school on Wednesday to get your photo taken.  See Mrs. Fisher with any questions.

Littleton Student Athletic Pass - For only $30.00 LHS Students can attend all of our regular home games at no additional cost. This pass is good for the entire 2014-2015 school year and for all sports, with the exception of playoff games and tournaments. And if you get yours before our Homecoming Game this Thursday, you will not have to stand in line to pay for the game. Please see the Bookkeeper to get yours today.

Hello parents!  Join the fun at Merle’s Restaurant on Wednesday, September 17th for parade viewing from the patio! Merle’s will donate a portion of the proceeds to our LHS PTO for all food and beverage orders during our Homecoming Parade. So… join your fellow LHS parents from 2:30- 5:00 for a “Roarin’” good time! Littleton Adult Athletic VIP Passes - For only $50.00 adults can attend all of Littleton’s regular home games at no additional cost. This pass is good for the entire 2014-2015 school year and for all sports, with the exception of playoff games and tournaments.  Contact the Athletic Dept at 303-347-7740 or jquan@lps.k12.co.us to get yours today.

Seniors, Jostens will return on Tuesday, September 23rd from 10:30 to 1:00 in the Senior hall to take orders again for those who didn't make it.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: If you are parking in the LHS lots please make sure you have purchased a parking pass and have posted your permit sticker in your car.  Permits can be purchased through the bookkeeper for $50.  Campus Security will be monitoring parking lots to ensure all cars have permits.  Cars without permits will be ticketed.  Sophomores are allowed to purchase parking permits in November.

Attention Seniors!  Applications for the highly competitive and prestigious Boettcher Scholarship are now available to any senior who wishes to apply. Scholarships recipients receive a four-year full ride scholarship to any college or university in Colorado.  Amazing!   You can find all the details at the Boettcher Scholarship Online Application website.  The deadline for your completed application package is October 1st. Stop by Post Grad for more information.

Students – do you need a computer? If you do not have a computer at home, we have free computers for you. These are refurbished desktop computers, not laptops. They use the XP operating system and are loaded with Open Office; please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office to receive a voucher for a free computer and/or more information.

Attention Students and Parents - Mark your calendars for the upcoming "College Information Night" which will take place Wednesday, October 1st, 6:00-8:00 pm. We will have a short introductory presentation followed by three rotations of 25 minute breakout sessions on topics including:  Paying For College, College Entrance Exams, The Parent's Role, Building Your College List and Inside the Admissions Process.  All students and their parents are welcome.
