Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

The Varsity boys soccer team won 3-0 last night against Thornton High School. The goal scorers were Sam Korff, Joe Director, and Nolte Mehnert. Our season record is 5 wins and 1 loss. Join us for the next home game on Tuesday 7:00pm against D'Evelyn HS

The JV soccer team beat Thornton 11 to 1 yesterday. Manny Cooke led the way with a hat trick and Michael Melton added two goals.

Congratulations to your Lion Ultimate mixed team on winning their first game at home yesterday. Beating Arapahoe 14-4 was a great way to start the season! Returners and new players alike exhibited strong skills and positive spirit.

Sports Announcements:

Come over this afternoon to Heritage High School where your Lions cross country team roars into the largest meet of the year, the Liberty Bell Invitational. The first race is at 4:25, but get there early because this meet draws a huge crowd!

The Heritage/Littleton Varsity Softball team has an away game tonight against Ponderosa at 4:30. Tomorrow, they play Cherokee Trail at 11:30 at their home field, Euclid Middle School.  Come out and support them if you can!!

Boys Tennis will match up against Green Mountain this afternoon starting at 3:30 here at LHS.

Our Varsity Football will play way against Greeley Central at 7pm.  Good luck to all our teams!

Key Clubbers, please bring hand sanitizer, bleach, and soap and any gently used gloves, boots, sneakers and rain coats to the Foreign Language Office and put them in the box by Ms. Anthamatten's desk. They are going to West Africa to help in communities hit by the Ebola virus. Thank you!

It's time to show your school spirit--next week we are having Dress Up Spirit Days!!  Going along with our Salad Bowl Theme, we will have 1000 Island Dressing Day on Monday, so find a StuCo member and get a flower lei and/or wear your best island clothing!  Tuesday is Ranch Dressing Day, wear your cowboy or farm attire!  Wednesday is French Dressing Day-find a StuCo member for some French accessories and wear your berets!  Thursday is House Dressing Day-so wear your CLASS T-SHIRTS and Friday is Caesar Salad Dressing Day, wear your best toga or laurel wreath! Make sure all your attire is LHS Code of Conduct Dress Code appropriate and show your school spirit!

Thursday of Homecoming week is the best day to show your school spirit!  After school in the south gym it time for the HOMECOMING DODGE BALL TOURNEY! Each class can make up to 2 coed teams of 7 or more people to compete against the other classes AND a teacher team!  So, find your best players and sign up on the class bulletin boards in the Language arts hall and we'll see YOU on Thursday!

Homecoming tickets will go on sale starting Monday Sept. 15th in the hallway next to the concession stand by the gym.  You can buy your ticket, then go over and buy your Class t-shirt!!  Tickets are $15 and that will get you a soda and treat from the DECA store during the dance.  Buy early and skip the long lines the night of the dance!

Guest Forms for Homecoming Dance are available in Student Services and Main Office.  They are due on Sept. 18, 2014.

Any student who picked up an ambassador form from Ms Prestel, you need to return it by Monday Sept. 15th in order to be an ambassador this year.  And don’t forget Officers, Ambassadors and General Council members, there is a VERY important General Council meeting on Monday the 15th--we need to confirm ALL our Homecoming activities!

Students – do you need a computer? If you do not have a computer at home, we have free computers for you. These are refurbished desktop computers, not laptops. They use the XP operating system and are loaded with Open Office; please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office to receive a voucher for a free computer and/or more information.

Academic Announcements: 

Attention Students and Parents - Mark your calendars for the upcoming "College Information Night" which will take place Wednesday, October 1st, 6:00-8:00 pm. We will have a short introductory presentation followed by three rotations of 25 minute breakout sessions on topics including:  Paying For College, College Entrance Exams, The Parent's Role, Building Your College List and Inside the Admissions Process.  All students and their parents are welcome.

Merle’s will donate a portion of the proceeds to our LHS PTO for all food and beverage orders during our Homecoming Parade. So… join your fellow LHS parents from 2:30- 5:00 for a “Roarin’” good time! Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity and JV tennis teams. The varsity won their 3rd league match in a row, 7-0, and the JV followed with a 2-0 victory. Today the teams head to Valor for a critical match.

Congratulations to the Boys Soccer C Team on their come from behind victory over Douglas County yesterday winning 4-1.  The Lions were lead on offense by Nate Schwarz  and Alden Kramer with two goals each with assists from Tucson DeShon and Duke Hindman.  Come support the team next Tuesday and Wednesday at home when they take on Cherokee Trail and then Thunder Ridge. Way to go Lions!

Heritage/Littleton Varsity Softball beat Regis yesterday 5-2 at Regis.  MaryAnn Quintana earned a Save by throwing 4 and 2/3 perfect innings.  Gabbie Matl went 2 for 3 at the plate hitting a double and a triple.  She has the best batting average on the team with .516.  Their next game is against Ponderosa HS at 430 on Friday.

Hey guys--Homecoming is next week and Student Council wants YOU to be part of the best event of the week--The Guys Volleyball Tournament!  Talk to your friends and get a team signed up—sign- up sheets are on the class bulletin boards in the Language Arts hallway!  There can be multiple teams from each class, but no mixing classes.

Hey gals--are you a fast runner?  Can you throw a football?  If YES, then Student Council wants you to sign-up for the Homecoming Powder Puff football tournament!  We need as many girls as possible to sign up for each team. Today is an LATE START ODD Period Day – Periods 1.3.5.7

Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

Congratulate your Lions cross country teams.  Your boys and girls teams swept the titles on Tuesday at the Golddigger Dash hosted by Clear Creek High School.  Our freshman sensation, Addi Iken, brought home the first-place ribbon in the girls race, crushing the field by 30 seconds on a tough, hilly course at 7700 feet of altitude.  Magda van Leeuwen sped to a terrific third-place finish, Claudia Kramer stepped up big-time to grab sixth, and Madeline Espinoza hung tough in placing 10th.  The boys won the crown led by Colin Cannon in third-place, followed by Tommy Kail in fifth, Ethan Ogden closed hard to take eighth, and Jackson Hootman gutted it out to place 15th.  Awesome day, Lions!

Congratulations to the Girls Volleyball Program who swept the Lincoln Lancers last night as they traveled to Lincoln High School! All LHS teams, Sophomore, JV and Varsity swept the the home team 2-0, 2-0, and 3-0. On the varsity team, Sr., Haley Hanna led the Lions as she earned 13 points on the night. Sr., Emma Capra earned 8 points, while Sophomores Mallory Burbage and Emma Parkhurst scored 6 points apiece for the Lions. Congratulations ladies!

LHS Collage Concert TONIGHT at 7pm in North gym and the concert is free.  Encore will host BBQ prior to the concert in the main lobby starting at 5:50pm.

Today is an EVEN Period Day – Periods 2.4.6.8

Student Recognition & Congratulations: 

Congrats to the LHS Cross Country team!  Channeling the power of Mr. Bill, they excelled at Saturday's St. Vrain Invitational in Lyons.  The boys finished 13th in the 4A/5A division.  Colin Cannon led the way with a new personal record by almost a minute.  He was followed by Tommy Kail, Tyler Fuller, Ethan Ogden, and freshman Charlie Meserve.  Jackson Hootman, running in the JV race because he's a transfer, sped to a very respectable 12th-place finish.  Freshman sensation Addi Iken impressively led the girls team to a solid 17th-place finish. Also scoring for the Lions were Magda Van Leeuwen, Elizabeth Rothrock, Madeline Espinoza, and Jenae Stutzman.  Great job, Lions!

This weekend, the following students did an excellent job participating in the CU Honor Reading Choir:  Mikaela Long, Elena Mathys, Michael Shebowich, Maya Sjoberg, Ashlyn Stetzel, Eva Zamora.

The menu includes: BBQ pulled pork or chicken sandwiches, salad, bottled water & dessert. Senior and parents – Jostens Graduation packets were handed out at Senior assembly last week. Graduation announcements and Cap & Gown order forms are in the Jostens packet.  Additional packets are outside of Student Service area.  Jostens will be at LHS this week, Tuesday – Thursday from 10:30am – 1pm in the Senior hall to place graduation orders. Discounts are available by ordering now.  Prices will increases later in the school year for late orders.
