STUDENT BULLETIN

Student Recognition and Congratulations:

Congratulations to your "Lion Pride" Marching Band for their performance at the Colorado State Fair Parade competition this past Saturday.  The "Lion Pride" Band placed 2nd in the 4A Division and 3rd Overall among 18 competing bands on Saturday.  Go Band!!

The Littleton/Heritage Varsity Softball team won its home opener 10-7 Friday in a non-conference game against the Rampart Rams.  MaryAnn Quintana pitched for the win and went 3 for 4 at the plate. Jaiden Kleiner hit 2 doubles.  Next game is Tuesday against rival Arapahoe at 7pm at Bowles Grove Park. plan to come out and cheer them on.

Academic Announcements:

Lockheed Martin Tutoring for students who need help in Math and Science will start Wednesday evening.  This is a free service to LHS students provided by Lockheed Martin Engineers.  Tutoring will be available every Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 1740.

Attention Juniors and Seniors!  College admissions representatives from the following colleges will be here tomorrow.  Sign up on your Naviance account to attend.
University of Rochester in Rochester, NY - Tuesday, at 8:00 am
Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO - Tuesday, at noon

Great opportunity for college-bound Juniors and Seniors!  There will be a "Colleges That Change Lives" College Fair at the Denver Convention Center on Tuesday, August 30, starting at 7:00 pm.  It is free, and no pre-registration is required.  Go to ctcl.org/denver for more information.

Senior Announcements:

Attention Seniors:  Please remember that if you are submitting a senior photo from an outside photographer, the deadline is this Friday, September 2nd.  If we do not have a photo from you by Friday, we will schedule a time for you to take your photo with the school photographer on September 15 or 16.  We want every senior to have a picture in the yearbook so we offer this to you free of charge.

Seniors - Graduation packets to order announcements, caps and gowns will be given out during Senior Seminar on Wednesday.

Club & Activity Announcements:

Student Council is meeting TODAY in the Forum from 2:20-3:00p.m.  PLEASE, PLEASE make sure if you are running for a freshmen class officer position you are at this meeting.  It is VERY important we get a list of all the potential candidates for office.  We also invite any student to come to our meeting and become an Ambassador.  This does not require as much of a time commitment as an officer, but we love having lots of Ambassadors!  See you there!

All girls and guys are welcome to join Ultimate Frisbee Club...the club that is also a sport! Our first practice is TODAY on the grass practice fields at 2:30. We’ll play ‘til 4:30 and practice on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as well. Ultimate Frisbee is a no-cut sport and games start in September! Come out to meet new friends, get fit and have FUN!!

Come to RPG every Tuesday and Friday, it starts today right afters school in room 1606.  It is about dungeons and dragon and other board games.

Do you want to run your own business someday? Join Future Business Leaders of America to learn about business, compete at leadership conferences all around Colorado, make new friends, and have a great time. Come to the first FBLA meeting on Thursday in room 1976 at 2:20 pm. We will have snacks and kick off our FBLA season.

Sports Announcements:

Attention all Lions, coach Farner (from the boys swim team) is running an 8 week/16 session swim course through September and October. This is open to all swimmers,  boys and girls. Please stop by the office to pick up the information packet if you are interested.

Important Reminders:

If you do not have a parking permit yet, please get one now. We will start issuing parking tickets this week.

Students, if you did not get your laptop during Seminar on Friday and you have brought back your Opt-in form, you can check out your laptop before or after school or during lunches in the Library.

Littleton High School is pleased to announce that we will once again offer a series of FREE engineering workshops which will be held on 10 Saturday mornings here at LHS this fall and next spring.  Instructors come from a wide variety of engineering fields, from corporations, government and institutions.  The workshops are super informative and FUN!  Please see LHS website for Shade of Blue workshop dates and the link to sign-up for the program.  Space is limited, don’t miss out.
