STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

I want to give a HUGE LHS CONGRATULATIONS to Jill Fitzpatrick for the fantastic job she did organizing and putting on our very first Unified Track Meet! Yesterday, Unified Athletes from Littleton, Heritage, and Arapahoe competed in the 50M, 100M, Long Jump, Softball Throw, and 2 relay events. I loved the spirit of camaraderie and competition among our athletes.  It was a wonderful, positive event for our community!
A big thank you also goes out to Deanna Encinas, Heather Stukey, Chad Koepke, and all of our student coaches & volunteers for helping Jill's vision for this event come to fruition.

The girls varsity soccer team beat Standley Lake High School 1-0 last night. Susie Puchino scored from Anna Newby's assist. Goalkeeper Lily Jensen had the shutout.

Congratulations to the Girls Level Three Soccer Team on their 10-1 victory yesterday over Arrupe Jesuit.  The Lion's Offense was lead by Lucia Arndt with four goals and an assist, Samantha Hernandez with 3 goals and an assist.  Cinthia Roman added two assists. Additional goals came from Gaby De La Torre, Clara Landreth, and Sydney Ullrich. Great Defense was lead by Ashley Feldman, Ita Gutierrez, and Katie Barron.  A Great Team Win! Come support the team next week as they finish the season at home against Boulder and Thunder Ridge.

Congrats to the Boys and Girls JV Track Teams who competed at the JV Championship Meet last night! There were a number of personal records set. Here are the Top 3 finishers:3rd Place Finishers Boys 800m Run: Charlie Vaughters Boys Long Jump: Tekola Cornetet 2nd Place Finishers

Tickets will also be available at the door Saturday night.

Key Club will meet today at 2.20 p.m. in room 2620.  We will be electing officers for next year so please come if you can!

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Baseball Summer Information Meeting is rescheduled to Tuesday, May 1 at 6:00 pm in the Forum.

What if there was a sport where you weren't restricted by the size of the playing field? How about a fun, healthy sport requiring very little special equipment? What about one that encourages you to run across grassy fields, along trail and at times, through water? Come see how cool Cross Country can be during our informational pre-season meeting on Monday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the Forum. Students and their parents are invited to meet the coaches, learn about summer running, get information about our summer running camp and hear about the season. Athletes of all abilities are welcome and little or no running experience is required for this no-cut sport. Hope to see you there!

Prom Spirit Week is here!!  It is time to show your school spirit and get ready for prom. The Spirit Days are as follows: Today is vine day, Thursday is pajama day.

LPS/Heritage High School Hockey Parent & Player Information Meeting:
Any hockey player or parent who would to like play or get more information about playing in the Heritage/LPS High School Hockey Program should attend the New Player Information Meeting. The team is made up of students from Arapahoe, Littleton, Heritage and Options high schools, This meeting will introduce the coaches, who we are and what Heritage/LPS Hockey is all about. The meeting is Tuesday, May 1st 6:00 pm at Heritage High School in the 3rd Floor Lecture Hall

Congratulations to your LHS Jazz Band who performed at the UNC Greeley Jazz Festival this past Saturday.  The Jazz Band received a Superior Rating from the judges and Kylie Griggs and Elissa Volling were recognized as Outstanding Soloists of the day.

STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

Here are the results from the FBLA State Conference!
31 Students competed at the state conference
19 of the 31 students who competed qualified and competed in finals
12 of the 19 finalists qualified for the National FBLA conference this summer! The kids were wonderful and I believe that they all had a great time at the conference competing, networking and improving their leadership skills!

The girls varsity soccer team beat Wheat Ridge 2-0 on Friday night. Erin Malloy and Sarah Payson scored the goals and keeper Lily Jensen had the shut out. Congratulations ladies!

Track and Field had a great day at the Jeffco Relays! Top performing teams included: Brittany Line, Lilly Hanes, Ashton Haddock and Addy Vander-Velde teamed up for a 2nd place finish in Shot Put. Trevor Stuzman, Trevor McMillian, Davion Simon, and Jason Levy, were 2nd place in the 1200m Relay, Davion Simon, Trevor McMillian, Charlie Meserve and Christian Sapakoph finished in 2nd place in the 1600m Medley Relay
There were several other top 3 finishers and great performances! Great Job Track-sters!

Tickets for prom go on sale starting next Monday, April 23rd.
Come to the bookkeepers office during a and b lunch to purchase your tickets and avoid the long lines at the door! Tickets are 40 dollars for Juniors and guests.  Seniors do not need to purchase a ticket; instead bring your student ID to the door at prom. Guest forms are due April, 26, 2018.

Today, April 23, come to the 1st annual LHS Color Run!  It is free to attend, so meet in the athletic entrance, immediately after school. This will be a short journey around LHS with lots of color powder being thrown so remember to wear white clothes that you want to become colorful. It should take no more than 20 minutes.
