Sierra Martinez: Every day this week, Sources of Strength will be talking about our "We Belong" campaign. We are very fortunate at LHS to have a diverse population! We want to celebrate what makes us unique, and what brings us together. I am Sierra, and I belong! You belong! We belong!

STUDENT BULLETIN:

Students, we will be reading to you the Character Corner Word of the Week, straight out of your LHS student planner. The word for this week is Adventurous. Being adventurous means you are willing to take the risk of doing something new. Helen Keller said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” We hope for many daring adventures for our Lions!

Attention, Juniors and Seniors! An admissions rep from Arapahoe Community College will be here this morning. If you need a pass to attend this meeting, stop by Post Grad.

Attention, Juniors, for Seminar on Wednesday, you will be attending a presentation from our Post-Grad Specialists. Some of you will be going to the Theater, and others to the Forum. Please listen carefully -- in the Theater: Adams-Berger, Mr. Koepke, Chen, Lukes, McShea, Oaks, Stutzman and Watkins. In the Forum: Connie Martin, Gould, Griffin, Rankin, Hahn, Uhl, Kryssi Martin and Weygandt. Juniors should go directly to these locations and find where their Seminar has been assigned seats. Your teacher will meet you there and take attendance.

Be sure to get your spirit on this week by participating in our dress-up days! Tomorrow, pick a character from the past and bring them to life! On Wednesday, dress as you would if you were going to the Coachella music festival. Get your sci-fi on for Thursday, and as always, we will end the week with class t-shirt day on Friday! We hope to see you all dressed up!

Attention, all students, the Winter Dance will be held on Saturday from 8:00 -11:00 pm in the South Gym. The theme is Hollywood Film. Students are welcome to dress in theme attire or in semi-formal wear; all must be dress code appropriate. Tickets will go on sale starting today at the Attendance Window during lunches. Tickets are $8 pre-sale or $10 at the door. Students must bring school ID to the dance. Guest forms are also available in Student Services and must be handed in by Thursday.

Registration for the 2019-2020 school year will be in the Forum during A and B lunch. Please listen for your grade level and the dates.

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Great Scott! Our Speech and Debate team was totally tubular at the Back to the Future tournament held at Discovery Canyon High School on Saturday. We made like a tree and got out of there with some impressive trophies, too, as Senior Julia Valdez placed 2nd in poetry, Senior Arik McCubbin placed 2nd in Oratory, Ally Procopio placed 6th in Informative, Senior Jack Rogers placed 4th in Humor, and Hayley Hamilton went undefeated in Lincoln Douglas debate, placing 3rd. Woah. That’s heavy!

There is a General Council meeting for all Student Council members tomorrow at 7:45 am. We will be handing out Val-O-Grams and signing up for Read Across America!

The STAR (Students Taking Active Roles) Club is a new club at LHS that offers students training in areas of goal setting, study skills habits, leadership, positive character development, and much more!  Come join us for some pizza and gain valuable information about the STAR Club at our next meeting this Wednesday, February 6th, at 3:45 pm, in the Team Room #1558, located by the Athletic Entrance.  Any LHS student is invited to participate!  Students who would like to sign-up can do so at the Attendance Office.

Littleton High School’s newest club, Jewish Student Connection, offers an opportunity to chat, laugh, learn and eat--yes EAT!--all with a Jewish twist! Everyone is welcome! Our next meeting is this Thursday from 7:45 - 8:25 am, in room 1748. We hope to see you there!
