Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team on a strong showing at the Gator Invitational! The Varsity team finished first among 4A schools and third overall, led by Axel Fontaine with a career PR of 17:15. Tyler West, Jonas Fontaine, Rowan Ingraham and Henry Hoffman rounded out the top five Varsity finishers. The Boys Open team won their division, highlighted by top-10 performances from Hank Chojnacki, Micah Hosie, Quinn Morgan and Max Neale. In the Newcomer race, freshman James Gioia led the Lions with Jacob Berger and Grayson Manuel close behind.
The Lady Lions Cross Country team brought their A game to the Gator Invitational over the weekend! The Girls Varsity took first among 4A teams and third overall, led by sophomore Sophie Bailey with a shiny new PR of 20:30 and a sixth-place finish. Natalie Lueker and Stella Begly also had standout performances in the race, both finishing in the top 15. The Girls Open team placed third, bolstered by great races from Valen Orrick, Maddy Nolting, and Reese Reynolds. In the Newcomer race, freshman Lucia Bovo had a top-10 finish with a time of 23:18 while Annabelle Pannier and Olive Ascani also ran strong for the Lions.

Today, 8/25: In partnership with the Denver Broncos, our LHS Flag football program hosts 3 teams for a Flag football jamboree at LPS Stadium. Games start at 6:30 pm and the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders perform at 7:15 pm. Denver Broncos alumni will all be in attendance.

Want to make a positive difference at LHS? Please join Sources of Strength! We are a suicide prevention group that focuses on hope, help, and strength.
Sources of Strength peer leaders get together, eat treats, and plan campaigns to spread awareness of healthy mental health strategies to use when you're feeling down. SOS also wants students to reach out to trusted adults when they need help. Everyone is welcome to join! Our first meeting will be with Mrs. Kubala (formerly Rapp) in room 1219, after school, today, August 26th.
