Maria Tallchief became America’s first major prima ballerina and achieved worldwide fame for her stunning performances. She redefined ballet in the United States and showed that Native Americans could excel in any artistic field. Her grace and determination opened doors for dancers of all backgrounds.

Support the LHS No Shave November Fundraiser, hosted by the Student Council in support of Wish Week! We’d love for you to join in on the fun, the more, the merrier! The event will run through November 21st. To participate, you can donate $10 or more through Go fan for No Shave November. To get started, take a photo of your clean-shaven face or leg (calf). Then, on November 21st, take an updated photo to see your progress! If you make a donation, you will be entered into a drawing to get the chance to shave Dr. Velazquez and/or Student Body President Gavin Reidy faces. Join the fun, support a great cause, and let’s make this No Shave November one to remember!

Mary Tallchief se convirtió en la primera gran bailarina principal de Estados Unidos y alcanzó fama mundial por sus impresionantes actuaciones. Redefinió el ballet en Estados Unidos y demostró que los nativos americanos podían destacar en cualquier campo artístico. ¡Apoye la recaudación de fondos "No Shave November" (Noviembre sin afeitar) de LHS, organizada por el Consejo Estudiantil en apoyo a la Semana de los Deseos! Nos encantaría que se uniera a la diversión, ¡cuantos más seamos, mejor! El evento se llevará a cabo hasta el 21 de noviembre. Para participar, puede donar 10 dólares o más a través de Go fan para No Shave November. Para empezar, sómate a la iniciativa y toma una foto de tu rostro o pierna (pantorrilla) bien afeitados. Luego, el 21 de noviembre, toma una foto actualizada para ver tu progreso.
